A nice review for a nice band. I like their previous slightly better though. Still this is good fun music and there's not enough of this kind in the metal scene. I'll give it a 75.

I found this one to be much more commercial than their debut, didn't enjoy it that much. Somehow I don't like the production, it's way too slick for the themes they use.

I, for one, really like the new album but I'll say I do like the previous one better. To me, there's just no "The Human Instrument" or "Mr. and Mrs. Ness" on this one. There's some great pieces like the title track but nothing that jumps at your throat and urges to pull out that Elvis voice and sing along.

This sounded too commercial for me. Reminded me of Danzig meets Flogging Molly if that makes sense.

It’s hard not to enjoy this, even if you’re a po-faced Thrash fan who only listens to Tankard and won’t accept that choruses have a place in music.

I found it Zad. Ass.

I have only heard a few song on the satelite radio, but I like what I have heard. If I see this in stores I will check it out.

why do you call this thrash, or even say it has some thrash influences.
It clearly doesn't.

Ah, but it does! That's probably why I said it. Listened to the whole album?

I've never seen Volbeat labelled as thrash metal before, and they are by far the biggest and most talked about metal group in Denmark. I've never thought of them as such, personally, but I found the review interesting nonetheless. As a whole, I was rather disappointed in Guitar Gangsters..., though.

They've always kind of been that, though.

I really dig this album, but I agree it's not as good as the last. It's got more punk and pop that the previous albums—less metal. "Still Counting," for instance, has that absolutely killer metal riff in the beginning, but it lasts for, what, 20 seconds? And that's it, for the whole song!

I won't say they've gone more light and commercial on purpose, though. Maybe most of the songs just didn't have a place for heavier stuff. We'll see on the next album; I think that'll tell the tale.

For now, though, this is another really good album.

You mean that master of puppets bit?

Thats my favorite track on the album, but I agree, they should've come back to that riff and the intro too.

As for a change in thier sound, its slight at most. Its mostly just more of the same, which it great.

Seems to be one of those vocalists that people either really enjoy or can't stand, fortunately I think he's damn good

I am absolutely in love with this album. Catchy and poppy yet still very metal in parts. A late thank you to Zad, I've got a new favorite band now. :)

Check out Rock the Rebel / Metal the Devil next. It's just as good as this, maybe even slightly better.

Yeah, the first one's better. I just found out that they have a new one out, it's called Beyond Hell / Above Heaven.

If this one is good, and it's marketed properly, they could really hit the big time having exposed themselves to NA audiences through some good opening slots on tours. However, I could also see them sliding further and further into popabilly.
