Now, this is my kind of doom. Great stuff! This one is different from the previous one.. more focused. Love the post-rock influence seeping through (in Dark Valley Suite, namely). They've stepped way forward since Suffer No Guilt. Need to get the EP, if just for the cover of Egypt. :dio:

Definitely do, you might be surprised. The mellower passages really add some diversity to the admittedly good but monotonous previous album.

These guys are still a bunch of turds, but their music makes my balls sweaty.

Are these the guys who burned you at the stake on their forum because you like The Sword? What a bunch of knobs.

It started there. My second post began with: So, you're an elitist asshole, eh?

They were funny dudes, no doubt, but...fuck, they were just mindless fools. I still refer to the C.O.T.D. as the Circle of Turdly Doomsters. Haha.

It really doesn't get much more pathetic than that.

Haha, pathetic is a perfect description. I mean, I'm no fan of The Sword, but I would never call someone a street teamer just for liking them. That's just stupid. Street teamers are so easy to spot, like these two buttnuts:

http://www.metalreviews.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13664

or this fucker:

http://www.metalreviews.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14020

Those guys on the Hellride forum are just pissed because The Sword were/are getting mainstream attention, so they feel the need to denigrate them to cement their cool underground status, hence all the "poser band" shit posts. What a bunch of knobs. I love doom, but I could never be part of a forum like that.

The funniest part is that The Gates of Slumber can now be found in Newbury Comics, Best Buy, and all kinds of other mainstream outlets. They sold out!
