I need to give a spin to this one as I really liked their two latest albums (Division Blindée and Immortel). Great lyrics and songwriting though I'm a bit guilty to admit I like Killers a bit more music-wise as far as french HM bands go :D

Totally amazing album. Kicks the crap out of most speed metal bands regardless of era. Le Deseu de Dieu has probably one of the greatest leads of all time in it. The follow up to this album is also quite excellent though more of a power metal offering. Can't understate how excellent the combination of aggression and melody are on this album. Le Cyclope du E'tang is probably my favorite on the album.

Great review, especially the historical perspective and little tid bit about Demon Eyes. Great french band. Together with Sortilege they sit proudly atop the pantheon of French heavy music. I also like that they sing in their native French.

You ever heard of a band called Sarcasm from the 80s from Mexico?

Sarcasm" may refer to:
Sarcasm (SI) - Speed/Thrash Metal from Kranj, Slovenia
Sarcasm (SE) - Death Metal from Uppsala, Sweden
Sarcasm (FR) - Thrash Metal/Hardcore from Soual/Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées, France
Sarcasm (UA) - Gothic/Doom Metal from Odesa, Ukraine
Sarcasm (PL) - Death Metal from Puławy, Poland
Sarcasm (US) - Thrash Metal from New York, United States
Sarcasm (DE) - Death Metal from Höxter, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
Sarcasm (CH) - Thrash Metal from Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland

Thanks mate. Glad you liked it.

I find this kind of review, those about albums I loved when I first got into metal, very enjoying to write. I'm sure the french version is better written, though. Makes sense since, as you all know, I'm French.

Anyway, I think I'll stick to this kind of albums plus a few new releases that deserve mention. Don't expect me to trash the new fad or a particularily bad (whatever the genre) metal album. Well, I've already did it with the latest Tygers of Pan Tang but that was more disappointment than hatred.

Maybe a Mexican label? It's probably the Slovenian band. I'll check MA and see which one it is when I have the time. Can't remember the album title right now...

New Satan album is coming out soon. I'm interested to hear that one as all of their output has been excellent, including the Pariah and Blind Fury stuff.

Blind Fury is a terrific album. I believe it's been reviewed already, if it's not the case, I might very well take care of it.
