Good review, sums up my feelings about this pretty well. Their debut, From Ashes, was much more melodic and enjoyable... it's a real shame (and may lightning strike on Crash).

This feels a little too generic at times and they tried too hard to get more brutal and technical. My personal favorites would have to be Cease to Comprehend (for its dark melodicism) and the short-but-great Aeon Aomegas preceding it. I'd say the riffs are a more techy Cannibal Corpse or even Suffo mixed in with the occasional dashes of Testament-like melodicism.

The only thing is... when your favorite track is an instrumental interlude... well, it's usually not a good sign. Too bad for guys that worked hard and for whom I have a lot of respect. I still bought the album to encourage them but personally... better luck next time, guys.

I like this band. I didn't get to hear this new one yet but Im sure I'll like it. They're first CD was bad ass. I got to see them on a show they did with Decapitated. Brutal show
