I just don't think you've listened to Megadeth much if you don't like Mustaines vocals. I wasn't huge on them at first but now I love them. Megadeth is just a different breed of thrash than Slayer. Slayer is a lot more evil but Megadeth thrashes just as hard on their great albums.

Tempo of the damned was a really good album by Exodus that's relatively new and the obvious Bonded By Blood, so that's 2.

And remembering that above quote...

You're the one attacking me when I'm just voicing an opinion.

@ Supremacist - What are you, eleven years old? Anyone questioning you gets dismissed out of hand, and I'm the asshole for pointing out your slip-ups? Here's my opinion - you're talking bollocks.

@ Steve-o - one Despised Icon review and I'm getting molested in a moshpit? I meant jumpdafuckup in the Soulfly/nu-metal sense.

Goat just keeps replying because he wants to break new records with his post-count.

Everyone else just thinks you're ridiculous, and that you have listened to thrash for a month not ten years.

This is the best damn Slayer album since Reign in Blood, which was not so much different. Compare Criminally Insane with Public Display of Dismemberment or Unit 731 or Snuff with Epidemic or Necrophobic.

And that's a good thing... because? Slayer have been repeating themselves for so long that people are finally getting tired of it. Interesting that I scored it higher than a lot of people here would have done; it's not actually bad in my view, just nothing beyond solid.
That's a good thing because their last 6 albums were not that good and WPB is coming very close to RIB.

And because their last albums were totally different to their 80s stuff, it's good, that they are back to their roots, which they shouldn't have left in the first place. I don't want to hear melodic death metal from ACDC and I don't want to hear modern new groove metal from Slayer.

And none of those would have existed if Slayer hadn't.
Metallica were before (or parallel) to Slayer and they have nearly nothing in common, but they were real thrash.

And without Venom, there wouldn't be Slayer...and they had thrash songs long before Slayer.

Hah I know, I just bought Show No Mercy a few days ago, and its funny how much Slayer is influenced by Venom. I can't listen to The Antichrist without hearing it :dio:

There are a lot of thrash bands that existed concurrently with Slayer those are the ones I'm talking about. I'm a huge Slayer fan but I will admit that bands like Dark Angel, Morbid Saint, and Evildead are 50x more intense then Slayer because I've bridged out since listening to them since high school. I mean just crack in Darkness descends or Spectrum of death and you'll see what I mean.

and

Num Skull
Minotaur
Darkness
Deathrow
Gammacide
Slaughter Lord
Sacrifice
Sadus
Rigor Mortis
Exumer
Demolition Hammer

I would rather listen to those bands classic albums over most Slayer albums. Slayer is as overrated as they come, but that doesn't change the fact that I find World Painted Blood to be pretty good.

Exodus?

Exodus have released one good album... Come on, let's be serious.

Exodus were pre-Slayer, to answer your point. And your Thrash logic is seriously screwed if you think that Exodus have only released one good album, but worship every nu-metal jumpdafuckup single from Slayer.

Hah nice post, but even Araya at his grittiest and most hoarse is still better then Baloff; I mean even Dukes is better then Baloff. This is in no way advocating the band rerecording Bonded by blood though!!!

Baloff = best vocallist ever

he also owns your soul

What the fuck man? Who are you to judge what is real thrash or not? Slayer is real thrash, but so is fucking Exodus, Sadus, Megadeth, Sodom, Kreator, Vendetta, Razor, Sacrifice, early Anthrax and Metallica, DESTRUCTION as well.

I respect your opinion that Slayer is the best band the world has ever seen and should all be presidents, but I don't respect a blanket statement excluding a significant ammount of just as important or even more important bands in the thrash movement over the years.

I never said those bands were not real thrash too...

What I've heard of Slaughterlord if I remember they are pretty much a slightly faster Slayer clone. Older Sadus rivals Kreator on a lot of levels, probably not now since they make WWE anthems. I haven't heard Exumer yet though.. But I come on man your killing me WTF!! Balofff is seriously one of the worst vocalists in the genre!
