I don't think there are people who will openly say that Hammerfall is a bad band or their records are total crap. Why? Because they are not. They play well and their songs are all at least above average to very good. If I happened to be stranded on a desert island for a few weeks (mind you) I would have nothing against having only a random Hammerfall CD with me instead of something else.
But as it has been already said by many, after listening to half of their works you don't really need to listen to the other half. I've already had my exposure to Hammerfall with their earlier albums so (since there's nothing more for me in their newer works) I just decide to pass them without any hard feelings or disappointment. To me their music feels like plain pasta without sauce or lukewarm water, it will do and it's more than ok if you have nothing else but pretty much anything else might be better. If people like what they listen or even love them more nowadays, I suppose that's totally understandable since they still make good heavy metal. It's just that for some, the lack of excitiment is reason enough to make them stay away.
P.S. I'm so tired due to lack of sleep that I can't even check for mistakes and typos... I'll do that tomorrow
