This album is a 60 for me. The vocals are way too whiny and bring it down at least like 20 points. Otherwise it was fairly interesting to learn that a metalcore band could play guitars beyond a sloppy versoin of melodic death

True about the vocals.This guy whines too much on this album.Sometimes i can barely stand him.

at first my main problem was with the vocals too (never been a big Axl fan and this does sound a lot like him)... but the music is so good that I eventually got use to it and that now I enjoy those vocals too



just for the record, A7X have always been a very heavy metal related metalcore band... it only makes sense that they took the next step to become a plain metal band... and a good one ! :twisted:

you already did with Iced Earth--Glorious Burden; Falconer--Grime vs Grandeur, Force of Evil--Black Empire, and many others, looks like Pussyboy doesn't like the favor being returned to him.

and 22/100 is a good score it means the album is "poor" which it definitely is, just be thankful I didn't give this pile of dung a 0/100

Jesus!..I thought for a moment people were going crazy here. This cd really just sounds more lame than bad. It is by far the closest thing to what you can call "pop metal", and the empire of 14 year girls that explicitly profess that they want to molest these dudes is a testament. I could imagine this band as being the "simple plan" of metal

There are some really killer riffs on occasion, but this doesn't outweigh the fact that this album is much closer to its own breed of "pop metal" than actual power/metal. I'd listen to Powerplant over this any day.

As for the old stuff, SOME of the stuff is actually good (hard to admit considering i associate this band with the thought of one of my ex girlfriends), but most of it is a lame attempt at combining hardcore, metal, punk, and emo together.

I can't say anything about their riffs and drumming, my ears hurt so much from this most horrible vocal performance ever that I couldn't pay any attention to the rest of the instruments. Who said Axl Rose? Axl Rose could never break into my top 500 vocalists, but he could probably fart better vocals than these.

60/100 for me. I hate the vocals and it doesn't have the energy the last album had.

you guys are just judging the band because of the way it looks and where they're coming from... to me this is a poser attitude...

I've been listening to metal since the mid-80's and this is just great... great riffs, great arrangements, great production... would the name on it be some Holy Dragon or Metal Goblin with a band looking like this :

and you guys would be crazy about it !

and yes this has just a little bit more than heavy metal in it : I find hair metal & power pop added to the mix and it works just fine !!!

Exactly my thoughts. Not a huge Axel Rose fan but this guy is like a pre-teen Axel.

I always used, but never abused like some others.

I just can't believe this band could be classified as Power/True Heavy Metal and lashes from people I would trust tell me that is true. If this shit is like Paragon, Brainstorm, Blind Guardian, Primal Fear, Grave Digger, Metallion or some shit like that, tell me because that is Heavy Metal. Don't go calling this stuff Power Metal if it isn't..... So come on, give me an MP3 somewhere cause I just can't believe this band could be PM.

I have one of their CD's. Listened to it a couple of times and couldn't get into it. Can't even remember the name of it. I don't care what they look like, only what they sound like. Might have to give the new a chance.

He had surgery on his vocal chords, that why he sounds different now. He can't do the harsh vocals anymore. He was told if he continued he'd lose his voice by his 30th birthday.

He's nasally now. If you ever notice Bon Jovi has that same problem now, he had vocal cord surgery too. Anyway, fuck this band. First their straight up screamo hardcore, then the nu-metalcore, now power metal? Please.

I think you've never heard screamo... I think you never listened to Nu-Metalcore either (cause their second album wasn't Nu-Metalcore)

but now they turned to heavy, maybe because of their singer's new voice, and I think they just kick ass... I wish there was more metal acts like them !
