Wow. Not much going on this week.

Why review crap like this when the new dream theater and sentenced albums are released unnoticed?

Metalreviews, how did those slip by you guys?

Apparently, if you play track 5 backwards, you can hear Geezer laughing like an Ozzy gone mad.

Agreed with the 'Metal Hammer' sucks thing. Heard that in their 'Golden Gods' award shit, they gave Mastodon 'Best Underground Band'. WTF?! Since when were Mastodon undergorund? Don't get me wrong, I like them, but it's still pretty fucking terrible. Anyone know who else was in the running for it, out of curiosity?

There is a review for the new Sentenced already.

As for the lack of Dream Theater... meh, I don't know, maybe next week.

I had the vision of a corpsepaint adorned Norwegian guy decapitating Fred Durst with a battle-axe in the midst of a grim and frostbitten forest when I read that.

Forgot to mention. Sabbath with Tony Martin ROCKS !

Add me to the list of Eternal Idol, Headless Cross and Tyr fanatics. And Cross Purposes is horrid even with Martin on there.

well I kinda liked Cross Purposes... When I first heard it, it was a bitter disappointment...I was expecting something like Headles Cross (even the title suggests it), but after the initial shock, it grew on me and now I can say that it's a good album...75/100. But, if you want to point out a HORRID album with "the Cat" singing on it, it has to be FORBIDDEN....man such a crap...it seems like Butler finally got his ideas across...Tony Martin had a concert in Romania, and in a interview, he also said that FORBIDDEN is one of the biggest low-points in his career. And,by the way, he also sang The Headless Cross that night, but he sounded horrible...he couldn't hit ANY of the higher notes during the chorus, and he also sounded strained and out of breath during the verses.... such a shame, I love this man's voice...

Yep, one of my fav and I believe the most uderrated vocalists. Headless Cross is one of my fav albums, so is Dehumanizer. I think Dio, Martin and Gillan are fantastic vocalists. I luved Forbidden too. If you have to ask me, I'd say that Cross Purposes is the weakest Sabbath album that I've heard that has Martin in it. I initially din't like the album, but it slowly grew on me. I wouldn't say it's bad, I'd give it 70/100. But the other Sabbath albums that I've heard would get much more. Oh yeah, I'm not too big a fan of Sabbath with Ozzy. I know that places me with the minority. But who cares

I think I can remember who the nominations for Metal Hammer's "Best Undeground Act" were.

1. Mastodon
2. In Flames
3. Meshuggah
4. Behemoth
5. Um I think the last one was Opeth, but can't fully remember. It may have been someone like Lacuna Coil.

The tagline for this award was "everyone has one band they think nobody else has heard of, so here's your chance to vote for yours".

With that in mind, I'd vote for Opeth. Listen guys, I know its probably only me on this forum thats heard of them, but some of you should check them out, you may like them.

:) Nearly fell into the trap...
Behemoth are the only sort-of undergorund lot on that list. The rest are no way underground. Fucking mags.

I think the "Best Underground Act" is a big fucking joke too. Any band being nominated for "Best Underground Act" on an overpriced mass-produced magazine that Nu-metal kids read and distribute to other Nu-metal kids, the band is not underground.

Tsk. What would Mother say, if she knew her darling little boy was advocating corpses as sexual objects?

I tried to listen to this since Plastic Planet and Black Science kicked much ass, but... this is just awful. :(

It was so awful I have trouble listening to the old stuff now. Mysterions is still their best song imo.

I like "Box of Six" myself. But yeah, Ohmwork is awful.
