I'm debating on which album to buy, this album or Lunar Aurora's Zyklus. Two different approaches I know, but some help would be nice.
I'd get more replay value out of Lunar Aurora, but this is fine.
Very good point; The LA has much more depth much more dimension to it. I think I will go with LA.
LA's Zyklus is much better. I always re-listen to it and discover new things about the album. But a lot of my friends didn't like it because of the production compared to their other releases. However I love it. I'd love to hear what you think after you've listened to it!
It would not do it justice, whatsoever, but I have listened to a couple of tracks on youtube and I must say it evolves quite a symphony of complexity and density that needs one's full and complete attention. However, the sentenced just typed states the obvious and also the following that it will take repetitive listening experiences in the right setting for the album to reveals its most hidden secrets. The atmosphere is extremely compelling and utterly other-worldly upon my first impression. As the Emperor has stated it will definitely have more replay value due to atmosphere and less emphasis on "structure." Nonetheless, Immortal's ASF is an outstanding piece of Black/Viking/Traditional Heavy Metal.
