I only saw part of the video but from what i saw it looks kinda bad. It looks like a good scientology video, but a bad Stargate video

It hurts the eyes, all that photo rendering. Hard concept to pull off with a limited budget. Reminds we of when myspace kids use cheap photo effects to make themselves less unattractive. At least it's not another video of a band playing in an abandoned warehouse.

Pretty cool song, stupid video...I haven't heard anything from IE with The Ripper, and he's a pretty damn good singer.

Oh the Ripper is a great vocalist, he just comes into a band after they lose an amazing singer. Joins Priest after Halford gets the boot, and then joins IE after Barlow leaves. He always needs to prove himself. And it doesn't help that Jon is only writing mediocre music. That's why I say we need another Beyond Fear album, or just some more songs like Scream Machine.

It takes balls to replace those two singers. Beyond Fear was pretty mediocre though (bad song writing). The only killer song IMO is Scream Machine, with a lot of forgettable tracks for the most part. I won't dismiss them at one album though. Ripper is an awesome vocalist, and I expect better things to come from his solo work.

i dont think that anyone claims that ripper is a bad singer...He just makes all the bad choices. the thing is that barlow is a trademark for IE and his name is connected with the best music the band ever produced.maybe its just me but i cant get used Iced earth sound without barlows voice...same goes for judas priest and halford.

This is by FAR the best IE song I ever heard. I like Ripper more than Barlow and today he has a way stronger voice than Rob Halford. Just look at some new clips with JP with Rob from last year. Rob's voice has declined and he lacks any charisma, stands still and has no eyecontact with the public. Just take a look from these two performances. In 1985 we have a young Rob that sounds great and has great selfconfidence and a lot of charisma.

Ripper sounded great in the song, I loved the Air Raid Siren at the beginning. The song itself was just kind of there though, and doesn't really get very me excited to rush out and buy the new album, which is what a single should do above all else. The songwriting is pretty stagnant it would seem. The video itself was good for a laugh, but it's honestly horrible. It looks like a bad Sci-Fi Channel original movie. I could have done without the whole terrorist angle as well. Just playing the song in front of the pyramid background without all of the chessy stuff would have been a lot better.

The song is awesome, but this is the worst video since Iron Maiden's Virus !

The vocals are pretty good. But everything else sucks. That has got to be some of the most boring guitar playing I've ever heard. I will not buy this album, nor will I ever listen to this song again. Where is Agent Steel when you need them?

Yeah, that's one god-awful video alright.

I love the song, though. What a fantastic fucking chorus. :dio:

Yet, I'm pretty sure you like Demons & Wizards just because it's called Demons & Wizards, when in the end, it's what Iced Earth would sound like if Hansi was the singer.

Then again, maybe I'm wrong and you don't like D&W neither !

So jet fighters were invented during the reign of pharoahs. Piece of crap quality video. The song is just so-so.

Hmmm, Iced Earth meets Stargate.

Strange video, but the song is good.

As for the two Priest videos, there is a huge comparison between Halford's performances....but remember, 20+ years is a long time. I'd rather have a vocalist stay in the one spot than run around the whole time. But yes, Rob's charisma has certainly declined over the years.

My thoughts exactly. Then again, Schaffer isn't known for being too creative with his guitarwork. It's a shame because I get tired of hearing the same riff in 3/5 of the songs IE has ever done. The other 2/5? The same ballad riff.

That all being said, this new song is alright. The chorus was pretty awesome, but the rest is about the average.
