My take on all of Michael's comments is that he says he can't "write" metal songs anymore. That doesn't mean that he won't sing someone else's. I think the whole idea is for both Roland and Kai to write the material with Michael just doing the vocals, much like he did for the Avantasia albums. I think that the results could be spectacular for Helloween fans...keep your fingers crossed....

I am holding my expectations back a bit, I've got a feeling the result will be binary, either awesome or shit. But if it's good, it's gonna be one of the best releases of the year that's for sure. And touring plans? Oh my god, that'd be something for the ear for sure.

Damnit, it's impossible not to get my hopes up.

Nothing with Kiske as the main vocalist after Helloween has been anything more than mediocre and I really doubt this will change anything. Kiske said that he would not want to do metal anymore, so why waste any more time on him? His performance on the Avantasia project was quite good, but you must agree that he has a quite similar voice to Tobias Sammett. A project with Tobias Sammeth and Kai Hansen would have been something that would have intrested me a lot more...

Hansen should not waste time on a rock project like this, since he is one of the best song writers in metal and not rock!

Btw, do you think we will see many good guest musicans on Land of the free II album like we did see on the original? You remember that we both had Michael Kiske, Hansi Kurch as well as David Defeis as guest musicans then?

I think you are very wrong. The awesome Place Vendome album proves this. I the guys can bring out something remotely as good as that album I'll be very happy. Well, I still hope that it will be a little on more the metal side than PV, but it's VERY hard NOT to get your hopes up. And think about what Grapow said: A band featuring:

Michael Kiske - vocals
Kai Hansen - guitars, backing vocals
Roland Grapow - guitars, backing vocals
Markus Grosskopf - bass
Uli Kusch - drums

Hehehe I almost shit my pants writing the line-up :):):). I know this won't be Helloween style, but read the line-up again and tell me you're not a little bit interested in this piece of news:):):)

Oh man that lineup gave me flashbacks when I first saw the video "I Want Out" on Headbangers Ball

I would be less interested if Tobias Sammet had a hand in this. Then it would be hard rock for sure. This has to be good, it just has to be. And yes Place Vendome was excellent.

I really don't expect this to be something more than a Helloween album a la Chamleon and therefore I don't really have any hopes for this. After hearing Kiskes solo stuff and Supared then I am suprised that anybody expects anything from this guy anymore. Edguy is powermetal so why would an album written by Tobias Sammett be hardrock especially when the other god powermetal writer Kai Hansen is a part of the project?

B/c Edguy is a hard rock band now. If anything you should worry about what the new Avantasia album is going to sound like. Also, listen to Place Vendom. That is some good Kiske.
