Hmm, didn't know that Overkill was releasing a new album this year. Excited as always, but I really do hope its better than ReliXIV

Uh, quite the opposite. They've been delivering shit for the last 2 or more albums, as I don't really remember much about the 2 before those :lame:

They were once one of my favs, I still like them, but I hate to say I'd wish they'd stopped like 7 years ago or something

Yeah, I *hope* there's more than ONE good riff this time, and I DON'T mean per album!!

I liked Killbox 13, and I haven't listen to Relix in quite a while, so I'll go ahead and say that album isn't all that great. I don't give a fuck if they aren't putting out traditional Thrash though, I just like good songs. Plus we all know if they were putting out The Years of Decay album after album, everyone would be bashing them for never progressing and just doing the same thing over and over again. Damned if you do, damned if you don't and all that crap.

Totally agreed, and Killbox 13 its a killer album, there are lots of riffs!

Killbox 13 is indeed a killer album- there's groove on there, but there's also a shitload of thrash to match it. RelixIV was kind of bad (except for the amazing opening number, Within Your Eyes, which is one of the best songs they've ever done), but it wasn't so bad that I'm worried they can't make a comeback with this one. Overkill has released a few duds over the many years, but they've always had some decent elements and followed them up with a good album.

Me too, if there was any.

Yeah, except I'd be f*cking moshing my head off! instead of yawning and friggin dying with each song with their new album

Well, maybe... I don't remember. And that's not a good sign anyway. But I do know that I was disappointed on the plate as a whole. I have a faint memory the git sound was crappy too...?

You're so optimistic  I have absolutely ZERO confidence in them to put out anything decent! They've ran out of ideas and even skill to make a good/memorable song that could kill :lame:

I seriously think they'd need a new pair of guitarists who'd be heavily incorporated into their songwriting! But I just don't think they are capable of doing so, so I'd rather see them just stop than dig themselves any deeper.

And I've been a fan since -94.

I don't acvtaully have a problem with them grooving so long as the songs are good. I think Necroshine is a really cool album, but From the Underground and Below and ReliXIV are both pretty shitty. I haven't heard any of their other newer albums.
