I'm still good for something. This is awesome news, guys! This EP is the first piece of Swanö related music I heard. It's an amazing little EP, some of the best progressive metal I've ever heard. I wonder what happened to Gustafson, though. He wrote "Amon-Ra," the best song on the EP.

Yes, this is good news. I've been wanting this one for a while, but I can't find it.

It's very hard to find. I can't remember where I found it, but it wasn't easy.

Dan Swano gives an update on his Second Sky album:

Quote:
Howdy folkz..

Just wanted to give you guys an idea what Second Sky sounds like...

first of all....it´s not so progressive that you seem to think. I would once again state that the album we are making is pretty much in the same veins as the best album ever made "Seasons End" from Marillion.

There is some odd beats like 15/16 7/8 5/8 etc. but only because it felt natural. There is nothing contrieved about this album. Never Prog for progs sake.

The general style can be described as Symphonic Singer Songwriter music, not miles away from Coldplay, Keane and Vanessa Carlton, and of course Marillion around the late 80´s early 90´s.

There are parts of "Eternal" that is a bit like 2S. Also some Unicorn songs like "Hiding Again" and "At the end of the bridge" . It´pretty simple. Second Sky is the music what I like to write and listen to the most, these songs don´t come easy and I have spent 11 years collecting material. Almost 1 song a year!! Well, since I haven´t written anything now in 2 years, that´s a high tempo!!! But I will be back...

I am currently listening to the mix of the Nightingale track "Belief". The sound is finally "gutfeeling and goosebumps and spontaneus airdrums and airguitar..all alone in my flat...."

Rock on fellas...

Well, now...sounds a bit frightening, huh? Hahaha. We'll see, I guess. Unicorn is very different from anything else he's done—that most people know, I should say; he's done some fucking wacky projects that are lightyears away from metal.

Best thing Dan Swano ever did was play keyboards on Vinterland's Welcome My Last Chapter.

That just got re-issued.

Yeah, sure. That makes a ton of sense.

Well, considering that I have about 50GB of Swano material that he's written and sung on, I don't think I'll ever say the best thing he's done is play keyboard on another band's album.
