Well the artwork seems very simple. But I hope they come up with good shit. Lemuria n Sirius B kicked ass.

I like the artwork. Sometimes a more simplistic approach works better, case in point.

I am salivating waiting for February 7th. This album is going to kick ass, and should be a contender for '07 album of the year.

Maybe. But with a new singer (Snowy Shaw) I wonder how the songs featuring him will sound. I still havent checked anything out with him on vocals.. Good drummer though.

Dance of Dragons is due in February?? I looked at George Martin's site the other day and there was nothing, so I really hope you are right. Need to know what happens with Jon Snow and the others!

I really hate it when people download an album and then proceed to trash it online.

It's like you're waiting to see a movie, a movie you're really looking forward to; then some jackass comes online after downloading it from some Japanese bootleg site and proceeds to trash it. Totally ruining it for you.

I REALLY HATE NAZI MODS. :dio:

A "nazi mod" is one that abuses his powers and edits someone's shit for no reason, or deletes their posts, or bans them for no reason. I do neither.

Love,
Ken

That always makes me more excited since I generally love albums that divide fans. Although since his comment wasn't specific at all I'd probably just ignore it.

anyways... what's a good place to start with Therion?

Not sure, I own nothing before Vovin, but I'm working on it. I know the early stuff is much more death metal than what it is today. Maybe like early Tiamat? Lemuria/Sirius B is amazing, though.

I think their major breakthrough came with Theli. That was quite an inovating album for that time, featuring a lot of soprano vocals and choirs, and it's a very good album to this day. They still play live a lot of songs from that album, including the kick-ass opener To Mega Therion and the brilliant ballad Siren Of The Woods. They played like 4 songs from it when I saw them last year. You could start with that. It's not death metal at all. And as a bonus you get Dan Swano singing in about three songs and he does a terrific job. He really elevates the songs with his clean singing.

By the way, I'm going to see them live again in about three weeks. A world premier for them, their first ever symphonic concert, with a 70 persons choir and a 100 men orchestra onstage. They'll play pure orchestral versions of Therion songs, classics from
Wagner, Mozart, Saint-Saëns, Dvorak, Verdi and Therion own songs together with orchestra and choir. The price's a bit spicy, but I bought tickets anyway, figuring it will be worth it.

Well 'Secret of the Runes' and 'Theli' are 2 personal favourites of mine. Really melodic stuff. You'll definitely enjoy 'Theli'.

How's Snowy Shaw's singing by the way? He's quite a stranger to me.

THERION will play with a full symphonic orchestra, choir and international opera stars on December 9, 2006 at the Palace Hall in Bucharest, Romania. A full-blown European tour with GRAVE DIGGER and SABATON will kick off mid-January. A complete list of tour dates can be found at the THERION web site.

[hysterics] WHAT THE FUCK?! WHY DON'T THEY COME TO SWEDEN?? THERE ARE TWO SWEDISH BANDS ON THAT TOUR, AND THEY DON'T COME TO SWEDEN! WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?! [/hysterics]

I'm new to Therion myself Noodles. I just found their music this year. I picked up a copy of Lemuria/Sirius B and was blown away. This is usually found in a 2 CD set and it's really fantastic!
