New Dreamquest can't wait Lost Horizons is a awesome cd. Hope his next solo album is better first two were great latest wasn't as good imo. I never really thought of Olaf as similar to Michael Kiske pretty big shoes to fill he is good but there's only one M K.

His last solo album was shite, sounds like he realises the need for speed. :dio:

Well, I don't think he was being completely literal. I think he's basically saying he's writing an album like the first two Keeper albums.

As for his last solo album, it's much better on repeated listens. It's a grower! And I agree, the Dreamquest CD is a killer! A big surprise.

While I'm not the biggest Rhapsody fan, Luca is a pretty good player, and I can see him pulling this off. Hmmm...does this mean it'll be more guitar-oriented with less keys/orchestration, since the Keepers albums didn't have much compared to bands like Rhapsody?

i dont think so

But this is only a part of the whole plan. The new album will comprehend a giant orchestra too, a giant choir and a lot of very special guests for a complete cinematic approach

So basically its not going to be like the keepers at all.

I guess I should have finished reading

Hmmm...so, what part of it is going to be like Keepers, just the fact that the guy sounds a little like Kiske?

I think he just means he wants to re-create the spirit of those albums, not rip them off and not sound 100% similar, but in the spirit of fun, catchy melodic speed/power whatever metal. I dont see why people are taking it so literal.

Because he didn't say it was in the spirit of anything. He basically said it was his version of Keepers 3, which is a big, bold statement in the PM world. I'm sure he actually meant what you think he meant, but it doesn't change the can of worms he opened with his choice of words. Of course, this kind of debate is great advertising, so maybe he wanted to stir up some stuff.

Maybe he just made the mistake of presuming people can read between the lines?

Actually, he said "...my next solo album will try to be the imaginary 'Keeper of the Seven Keys, Part 3' that I would have liked to hear sung by Michael Kiske in 1990..."

He's essentially saying that this is what he would have wanted Helloween to do, not what they would have done.

Luca Turilli is notorious for his horrible English. "We were drinking all of the beers!"
