DiMeo sounds great, but the song is kinda boring.

I've got a close friend who works for Aardschok magazine and attended the official "listening" party last weekend in Hamburg. He told me the song sampled here was his least favorite of the whole album. He also said, "fear not, it's gonna kick ass"....

This sounds indeed very old, boring and uninspired. The new vocalist sounds quite good however. I really hope this is the worst track on the album since I would consider a track on this standard a filler track on a any of the previous Masterplan records.

I agree, this doesn't sound that great but it's not the fault of the singer.

I don't get it. I actually think this song sounds damn good. In fact, it sounds like a typical Masterplan song.

Yeah you're probably right. Hard to judge a song by such a short sample with poor audio bitrate. I'm still excited about the album, if it's better than Aeronautics I'd be more than happy.

I hope it's better than Aeronautics, because I think that one is far worse than the debut.

The new song is way worse than anything from areonautics, wich IMO is just as good as the first one.

I'm totally crazy about both Masterplan's albums and I love them both almost equally but this sample has disappointed me. It lacks the energy and soul of previous songs. It feels a bit slow... draged I should say. I hope I'm wrong and the song will fall in context and make more sense as a whole and as part of the album.

I hate to say it but this song sounds very soft and lame. Hopefully it is the worst song on the album as rumored. I don't get why a band would release one of their weakest tracks to promote a new album though?

Ironically the script says Lande left because he wanted to go in a more melodic direction. This song sounds VERY melodic??

The band also states they wanted to go back to the metallic roots of their debut? Mmmm.. I didn't find there debut to be any heavier than Aeronautics??

Just my observations.......

I also agree with your points. It doesn't make much sense. There's only one hopeful explanation I can come up with. Maybe the group knows that expectations are really really high for this album and they intentionally released a not-so-good sample/song just to "normalize" things. Then when the album comes out and it's a killer, everybody will go "wow", "that's awesome" and "it's even better that what I expected" and so on.... ok that doesn't make much sense either and it goes against the unwritten rules of promotional publicity but I can't bother deleting what I've been typing for the last 2 minutes. :P

Haha... Nothing wrong with wishful thinking. I have done it many times before myself after being disappointed with a clip from a highly anticipated album.

A lot of times the album turns out just fine. Other times it's a bad indicator. Let's hope for the former in this case!

Peace.......

Yes, but Lande wanted them to become even more melodic whereas the rest of the band wanted to go back to the sound of the first album which was a little heavier overall.

Hopefully this is just case of the weakest song being released as the single - my least favourite song on Aeronautics was Back For My Life. Some of it just cringeworthy. The rest of the album is :dio: though.

Right. It just seemed like some were suggesting this new song is too melodic, as in its different from other Masterplan material. I don't think it is; in fact I think it sounds pretty damn heavy.
