The Dio years are great!

Some rumour was posted on blabbermouth that Iommi/Ward/Butler/Dio was planning to tour Europe together this summer, if true that's frickin' awesome.

Yeah, I'm sure it will be all remastered stuff and what's even better is the inclusion of some new material!

It would be great if they do something like the Black Box, instead of something like The Ozzy Osbourne Years, like all of the four albums with Dio, a rarities/bonus/new material album and a DVD, all in a box set with individual cases, that would be awesome.

Two new Sabbath songs will be awesome, it actually doesn't matter to me who sings. But I guess Dio still sounds good.

RONNIE JAMES DIO To Reunite With TONY IOMMI, GEEZER BUTLER And BILL WARD Under The Banner HEAVEN & HELL
Posted on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 12:27:57

Even though their respective managements have not officially released any information, Rafabasa webzine in Madrid, Spain is reporting exclusively that starting in June, 2007 there will be a reunion tour of a group going by the name HEAVEN & HELL.

At this time, there are no dates confirmed, but the tour booking agent is offering the band to the promoters of the most important heavy metal festivals taking place next year.

Under the name Heaven & Hell you will find TONY IOMMI, RONNIE JAMES DIO, GEEZER BUTLER and BILL WARD.

Evidently if everything is confirmed, they will be playing a set consisting of music from every single CD that Ronnie James Dio performed with BLACK SABBATH, to include Heaven & Hell, Mob Rules, Live Evil and Dehumanizer.

The reunion cannot tour under the name Black Sabbath, or BLACK SABBATH WITH DIO, due to the fact that the copyright of the name is the property of OZZY OSBOURNE and his wife/manager Sharon Osbourne.

Stay tuned for further updates on this report.

Halelujah!!!

Dio is one of my favourite singer of all time. Love his stuff from Rainbow, Sabbath, and Dio as well. This is all just good news to me.

I liked Dio Sabbath more than Ozzy Sabbath, so this is pretty damn cool.

I have the tapes. Of course, I have no tape deck. Haha. Are these box sets containing all the CDs from that era, or just songs?

The Dio years and Martin years are deffinetely the best Sabbath years! However it's amazing how Iommi picks one style of music in every album and writes amazing songs on that style. The Dio years per say have kick ass heavy/power anthems, the Martin years epic anthems, the Ozzy years doomy anthems and so forth! A real riff machine!

I too am among those few who believe so. Sabbath with Ozzy just never did it for me. Dehumanizer and Headless Cross are two of my all time fav albums. Forbidden comes close too. Excellent album. Now can we have a Black Sabbath - The Tony Martin years or something like that?

Tony Martin was terrible. I could never dig on his vocals. Of course, I've heard people tell me he's an amazing vocalist so maybe I'm missing something.

I have heard a lot of people say that. There are not too many fans of the Tony Martin era Sabbath (or maybe even Tony Martin). He's one of my fav vocalists. He is an amazing vocalist indeed. I used to feel he screamed too much, but finally got used to it and started digging Tony Martin era Sabbath. Much like King Diamond whose vocals I couldn't stand the first few times, but am now hunting for King Diamond/Mercyful Fate albums to build up my collection. No idea about Tony Martin's solo album. I have read it's good and very difficult to find too.

The only Tony Martin song I've heard is Headless Cross, and that song is pretty damn good, I've got nothing bad to say about his vocal performance in it either, fucking great!

Got to pick that album up some day :)

Tony Martin is a great vocalist. Tyr, eternal idol & specially Headless Cross are great albums. But well, my fav sabbath singer is none of them... Glenn Hughes is the man, for me... 7th star and Iommi/hughes sessions are great.
