I've been very negative toward this band over the course of their two major label albums, mainly because, for me, the metalcore vocals ruin an otherwise good metal band. I mentioned in the past that when certain metalcore bands start singing heavy and stop screaming that we would get a sort of new era of old school metal.

Yeah, yeah, some are too close-minded to see that, but it's there. When Trivium recently covered "Master Of Puppets" I totally dug it. The band should be singing like that all the time, I thought. Now this new song is more like that. Less screaming and it works well. I dig it, it's a really cool song.

It's definitely not 80's metal, or traditional metal, but it's definitely not a metalcore song. Most of you will shit on this track just because it's Trivium, your mind is already made up just because I said Trivium, but if any other "acceptable" metal band released this song people would eat it up.

DETONATION

That link may expire, if it does, use the link in the news section.

They're just ripping Metallica off now, as I said in the other thread. Poor.

Well, just to clear things up, I don't like it because it sucks. Nothing to do with anything Ken said. This band just tries to rip off Metallica and completely falls on there face everytime.

Exactly. The riffs are 2nd rate 80s Metallica and the vocals are terrible.

I made the rest of my opinion known in the other 2 posts I made. The riffs aren't good and vocals are horrendous.

Typical response. This band could write the greatest metal song in the past 10 years and most of you would claim it sucks.

No, this band couldn't. They aren't good.

But what's the problem here? They're ripping Metallica off, and the new song isn't the greatest metal song for the past 10 years!

I like the intro and the tempo shift at the chorus but then the parts after them suck badly so it kills them. It's not terrible, but its so unoriginal and mediocre there is no point in listening to it. I actually think Trivium have some potential but they've never even come close to meeting it.

Yeah, ripping Metallica off! Hahaha. Their music hasn't changed, where were these claims before? Now you're just grasping at straws, looking for the best way to insult them. Why not just call them your standard nu-metal?

At least before the vocals were not blatant Hetfield impressions. Here, they are. And fuck off, Ken, you know I'm right about Ramallah.

You've got the world-weary tone down pat. Doesn't excuse the anti-semetism, though.

1. Trivium are ripping Metallica off. Fact
2. You bring up nu metal, I respond.
3. You tell me to go away.
4. You refuse to admit your bigotry.

Again, if I was a big-titted blonde, you'd be treating me a lot nicer, whatever impact my personal beliefs may have on the forum rules. So, where's the problem, Ken? Not my end. You're starting this.
