Considering I've only just recently bought all the Primal Fear albums, I've come to a conclusion about that bird: that fucker would never fly.

And for you elitist fags, the first Primal Fear album is by far the worst. There are some downright shitty songs on that album.

The only full album from Primal Fear that I have is Seventh Seal. I've heard many of their songs but can't recollect from which album. SS was just ok only. The best of? Rather commercial to me.

Rather commercial? Try rather typical. Most bands do this and a lot of people like these kinds of albums. Plus, maybe they'll throw on some covers, they've done some great ones! I'd like to know the tracklisting.

Seven Seals is great, I think. That was the first one I bought and I kept reading everything everyone said here about it being mellower and all that nonsense, now that I have all the albums that comment is stupid. The fastest album is Nuclear Fire, all the other albums are pretty much in the exact same vein as Seven Seals.

I do appreciate all the talk about this band, though, because they're damn fucking good!!

I don't know, the more I hear of this band the less sure about them I am.

Nice artwork, though.

Primal Fear rules, you unbelievers!

What was their "big announcement" anyway? That move to Frontiers Records?

Yeah, basically that they were leaving Nuclear Blast. Mat Sinner lost his job there in January, so I'm guessing it was slightly acriminous. This best of is obviously just the last album they owed to Blast before their contract expired.

There are some shitty song on that album but IMO there are shitty songs on every PF album. I'll still take it as there best, then probably the lastest one.

No way, I find very few songs to be shitty on their other albums. The debut is about 50/50.

That album cover is wicked awesome!! It's just an utter shame they waste it on this best off album, especially considering SS had just a simple/cheap cover which I was very disappointed at

Sorry Boys, but for me the first one from PF is the best IMHO !!! There are some killer tracks : Formula one, silver and gold, nine lives, chainbreaker, etc .

Thierry

I heard some samples and a song from a Nuclear Blast promo the label sent me. They seem pretty good, but the singer does a lot of Halford worship from what I can tell.

I still don't have an album of theirs yet.

He does sound a lot like Halford. I first heard Seven Seals not too long ago and thought it was awesome. I then bought Nuclear Fire and was hooked. I bought all their other albums within a week. I asked somewhere on the board why he never tried out for Judas Priest and apparently he did, that's why he left Gamma Ray. Personally I think he sounds more like Halford than Owens does.

Either way, this is great band, but my opinion would be to not buy the self-titled first. I think it's the weakest. I'd say go for Nuclear Fire first, but all of them are awesome except for the debut, which is just good, in my opinion.

Disc 2 will be worth the price alone. Some of those covers are excellent! Definitely some odd choices for Disc 1.

Quote:
German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR wll release a "best of" collection, entitled "Metal is Forever - The Very Best of Primal Fear", on September 29 via Nuclear Blast Records (JVC in Japan). The album's artwork was created by Stephan Lohrmann, who was also responsible for the cover of PRIMAL FEAR's "Black Sun" album. The 16-track compilation will also include a special bonus CD of "classic metal tracks." The complete track listing is as follows:

Disc One:

01. Metal Is Forever
02. Chainbreaker
03. Seven Seals
04. Nuclear Fire
05. Final Embrace
06. The Healer
07. Rollercoaster
08. Armageddon
09. Angel In Black
10. Under Your Spell
11. Evil Spell
12. Running In The Dust
13. Suicide And Mania
14. Iron Fist In A Velvet Glove
15. Fear
16. Tears Of Rage

Disc Two:

01. Out In The Fields (GARY MOORE & PHILIP LYNOTT)
02. Kill The King (RAINBOW)
03. Speed King (DEEP PURPLE)
04. Die Young (BLACK SABBATH)
05. Metal Gods (JUDAS PRIEST)
06. Breaker (ACCEPT)
07. Seek And Destroy (METALLICA)
08. Two Minutes To Midnight (IRON MAIDEN)
09. The Rover (LED ZEPPELIN)

PRIMAL FEAR recently inked a new multi-album worldwide deal with Frontiers Records. The band has started writing songs for their upcoming album which is tentatively scheduled to be released before the summer of 2007. A European tour will follow the album's release.

In other news, a video clip of PRIMAL FEAR and former ANNIHILATOR drummer Randy Black performing the ANNIHILATOR song "Cold Blooded" at a Mapex drum clinic has been posted online at YouTube.com.

The Kill the King, Die Young and Seek & Detroy covers are all pretty cool, nothing too special.

I have all but Kill The King, Speed King and Die Young. Those I've heard are pretty cool, it'll be good to have them on CD since I downloaded all of them. I'm not paying for all those tribute CDs they're on where you get 3 good covers, 12 shitty covers.
