A nice song. Starts off a bit slow, but it's pretty good anyways. More of the BNW/DoD style, and I'm not really surprised.

Good stuff, though. I like it.

I think the slow start is a tad too long, but when it gets going, it sounds good, but just prods along. Nothing really jumps out at me. Still, its good but not great. I hope there are better songs thatn this on the album.

To me, the song sounds more like Bruce's solo stuff than Maiden....obviously it has a Maiden feel, but not as much as before

3/5

I like the slow start, although i havent really listened to anything since 7th son, so im out of the loop with maiden.

It was weird hearing bruce sing with......subtlelty :? :P

Im giving it.........a 7.5 out of 10 on first listen(s)

My hopes for the new album raise every day. And not that this is a long track (like most on the album) but ISNT an epic in the traditional maiden style, which is good, cos i know a lot of ppl are scared the album will be wannabe "rime of the ancient mariner" and "Alexander the Great"'s times 10. (or however mayn songs the alum has. im lazy)

Pretty good. If this is one of the poorer songs the album should be cool. After finding out who the dude is I like the title, haha-good in a shitty way. The solo after about 5:20 is cool.

Yeah, the first 2 minutes are insanely boring. I could not listen to that to often. Luckily after that the song only gets better, the solo is pretty decent, etc.. I cant stand the video either, but then, metal bands arent known for their videos. Im at least glad to notice the video is over 7 minutes long and does not feature a ton of song cuts like alot of bands do. Anyhow, 6.5/10 for the song, hoping its one of the worst on the album.

:) I actually liked this one quite a bit. Pretty cool riff. Sounded better than most of the stuff off the last 2 albums IMO.

Is it just me or did the production sound a heck of a lot better than on DOD and BNW. The guitars and drums sounded sharper and more in your face. Iron Maiden is in need of a heavier more up to date production and maybe this is it. I guess we'll find out come Sept. Looking forward to this release very much.

P.S. Speaking of production, I think it would be very interesting if Maiden worked with a cutting edge modern metal producer like Andy Sneap. I would love to hear that. Maiden would be a little out of there comfort zone and I think that would be a good thing. Plus the sonic results would be stunning if they just stepped back and let Sneap turn the knobs.

Peace...

I liked it. As Pete said, assuming this isn't their best song, the new album should be good. I'd love for them to go Prog-Metal fully, that would be awesome.

I would give 6/10. Not too good.
Too bad!

Wow. I really like this one. I love that mid-paced stomp! Very cool subject matter, too.

How old are these guys now? At some point they're going to slow down, you know?

Yes, they've done the Heavy Metal, now let's see them do something different. I'm really looking forwards to this.

According to Wiki, Bruce was born in '58, which makes him... 48. Not that old...

I think Maiden is pushing the slow intro and outro too much. That formula is repeated pretty much since Fear Of The Dark (the song), and on The X Factor and Brave New World it was all over the place.Almost every song was like that.Having said that, i liked the song.Has a lot from Bruce solo albums in terms of modern metal sound. And about being one of the worst songs on the album, i'm sorry, but the videos almost always are made for the most catchy/better songs on the albums.

One great thing about being a moderator is that I can edit other peoples' posts when they quote something that I totally fucked up! "I lost that mid-paced stomp!" is what I wrote, but what the hell does that mean? Hahaha. Love, that's what it means.

Anyway, they've always had some rock tendencies, I've always found them to be about 50% rock, 50% metal. I'm assuming as they get older that the rock will take over, we can't expect the eldery to be able to shred like they did 20 years ago, you know? And Bruce doesn't play the guitar, either. 48 isn't that old, but speed dimishes with age, ask anyone who plays sports, the same thing applies to music. The muscles just don't move as fast as you get older.

Your first paragraph is heinous. Edit my post, would you? And there was me going to make fun of you.

And yes, obviously old people can't do things as fast, although I would point out Lemmy and the whole of Judas Priest as counterpoints to this. If IM's new album is in this sorta direction it'll be good indeed [jew]although it'll divide people like Moishe did the Yam Suf, no? [/jew]

"And Bruce doesn't play the guitar, either. "

Actually he does. Although he's not nearly as good as the other three.
