I liked them both but I hope they have better songs on the album. This redneck is no "break you" or "11th hour".

Do you guys still think this isn't metalcore and the vocals aren't processed?

BAH! Yes, I don't like Lamb Of God. I think they're a metalcore band with terrible vocals. Yes, metalcore. I'm not trying to poo on this thread or the band, I just don't like them, but I find it funny that no one admits to the metalcore all over this band, at least on this new album.

bah, heard it all before. A few half decent riffs but very monotonus. I wouldn't mind if i liked this kind of metal but really not my thing. Oh and i really didn't like the vocals.

Well seeing as you're the only one here that has heard all of the new album why would we be able to admit anything about it. The other albums are not metalcore. The vocals have some "core" in them but that's it. That being said Randy pwns any other core vocalist.

I didn't sence any core what so ever. Not even in the vocals, sounded a bit like Phil Anselmo but with a bad sore throat to me.

Like Trivium, the vocals ruin this band for me. But if I have to admit that Trivium are metalcore and not traditional metal/thrash because of the vocals then you guys need to admit Lamb Of God are metalcore.

If they're not metalcore, what would classify them as?

I would classify lamb of god as proggressive metal.

I don't think they fit neatly into a genre. They have some thrash elements. A lot of groove stuff. Really what other bands sound like them? And does it really matter how you classify them? If you are that intent on them being metalcore it really doesn't bother me. I like them and in the end that's all that really matters to me.

Of course that's all that matters, and I have absolutely nothing against metalcore. I really like a lot of metalcore bands, but I feel that Lamb Of God are more closely associated with metalcore than any other genre. Do they sound like the main core of the genre, not at all, but I still think they're metalcore. And that's not an insult at all, my dislike of the band has nothing to do with the style I think they play.

And I'm sure there are many that strongly feel they're not metalcore, and that's cool, but you know a lot of people fear liking a metalcore band, just like nu-metal, so not matter how obvious it is they'll deny the band plays that sort of music.

So Ken, you realize that what you're saying is basically that Pantera had a lot of metalcore in it, probably helped start the genre.

Right?

I just heard both songs as well. To me most of lamb of god's music sounds the same but sometimes more of the same is a good thing. I mean if metallica had done that in the beginning who knows where they'd be now. In the end LoG and the songs are pretty average( some songs kick ass like "black label" and "11th hour")

They are influenced by Pantera. You can tell from some of the riffs. And what husker said about them being progressive metal isn't necessarily laughable. Are they anything like Dream Theater? Of course not. Do they have an original sound? Are they pushing some boundries? I believe the answer to both of those questions is yes. So in the fact thay they aren't just playing something that's already been done before, you can say they are somewhat progressive.
