United Abominations, hmm, doesn't really flow off of the tongue does it. But given the current political climate in the world, it seems oddly appropriate. I enjoyed The System Has Failed and I hope this one holds up to it.

Two things that don't fit:

1. The critics called 'The System Has Failed' a return to form, but this is even more so.

2. "There's some faster stuff that should appeal to the band's thrash fans and it's got a little more mainstream stuff as well.

A return to form wouldn't consist of more mainstream stuff. I'm sure this album will be good, but typical of the System Has Failed style. Old school nods abound, but not truly a return to form.

Eh, I think bands have that kind of response to what their new albums will sound like automated at this point.

i don't really like that much megadeth, so a sort of mainstreamish thing would maybe help me see more of the other good stuff...

I kind of noticed the same thing Eyesore did. I agree it's kind of an automated response these days, but still. I'm a little put off by Mustaine talking about "when the album would have come out", whatever that means. I can think of better ways to describe a style, all of which involve using the word "style". Maybe a reference to a past record or time period could be helpful, but what the hell does "some time before [1990's] 'Rust in Peace' or sometime after [1992's] 'Countdown to Extinction'" mean? :?: That it wouldn't have come out in 1991?

Oh, and I don't really care for the title either. :P

My guess is it's a play on UNITED NATIONS...i.e instead of United Nations it's United Abominations. With the way things are right now in the world, some nations are abominations!!

Sounded much better after you said that. Political stuff would be nice. (see: Ministry)

Aaah...makes total sense. Megadeth has always written political songs. Gotcha. Still kind of lame, though. Hahaha.

You best damn buy it! I think this album will be good, and the title well I have heard worse album titles. Plus about the before Rust in Peace after Countdown part is saying that it will have some songs that will be thrashy like the old stuff and the not so thrashy more mainstreamy stuff that was Megadeth in the mid-nineties all in all I think it will be very good if not great. But i am what you call a Megadeth fanboy...so yeah.

The title is... well... crap. Bad play on words, and horrible.

But if the album is something between Rust in Peace (Megadeth's best) and Countdown (one of megadeth's best, third for me) it could be incredible.

But I really believe will be more System has failed stuff... good, but not as great.
