What this essentially means is this: Download the album when it's first released, buy the re-issue six months to a year later.

roadrunner? i guess tis is where good megadethian ends. hence starts rubbish music. i never liked anybody from roadrunner for some reason. but opeth still has a place in me though. but i think i'll give mustaine a chance. for old times sake.

Yeah, i hate the way roadrunner fucking does that. Plus it means Megadeth wont release another decent album like The system has failed, just a pile of complete shit.

In the case of Satyricon it may have, and if they were on another label Cradle Of Filth probably wouldnt have a guest appearance on their next albumk by Ville Valo.

Labels mean nothing, except that maybe the band gets more money - which i admit can be a bad thing as they're like to try too much new stuff - and they might get forced to have a guest appearance from someone on the same label.
But Megadeth won't do this. They learned their lesson with Risk, they picked themselves up and released 2 good solid albums - The World Needs a Hero (good and kinda experimental) and The System Has Failed, which was definately an attempt to recapture the Youthanasia/Countdown/Hidden Treasures era.
So the next album will either be like those two (ie, good and solid to listen to) or maybe something incredible. Don't ask me why but I'm sensing they could return to being speedy thrash for a while - especially seeing as that sorta thing is in metal vogue right now. But if they go metalcore I'm going fucking postal, starting with killswitch and shadow's fall fans (then the chimaira fans, fuckers).

And Satyicon had been going downhill before they joined Roadrunner. Cradle of Filth people just started hating because they became popular - not becuase the music really changed. Nymphetamine was a slower in places than the old stuff and *gasp* it had wench vocals on a song, but it still had some great songs on it (Swansong For a Raven, Nemesis, Absinthe With Faust, Filthy Little Secret and Gilded Cunt).

all though i don't agree with your opinion of how good nymphetamine was, i do agree its not as bad as some people make it out to be.

i am incredibly hopeful that megadeth will release a good album with roadrunner, and as much as i would liek to think the label has no real bearing on the albums quality, the past shows that bands take a drop in quality overall when they join RR.

I second that. Megadeth is total crap. RoadRunner is just going to bring out the crapper side of the band. Now granted they've sucked since Countdown.

Uhh.. Its not like The System Was Failed was a masterpiece or anything. Far from it; its a pretty average album (and gets pretty bad at many points). I'm sure they'll be happy to continue in that trend, irregardless of label.

Okay, I suppose that did sound like I loved Nymphetamine. I like a few songs, but as a whole album it's way too long and bugs the fuck outta me after a few plays. I find that with most cradle stuff actually - the songs are just s bit too long. Except the Bathory Aria, that's the dogs bollocks.

The System Has Failed wasn't a masterpiece granted, but you could (or at least i could) listen to it several times in a row without cuttin mahself, and some definate foot-tappage started in there (especially for 'Of Mice and Men').

"Megadeth sucked since Countdown". To me, that's like saying Hendrix couldn't riff his way out of a Limp Bizkit song.
Have you never heard Youthanasia? Cryptic Writings may have some crap on but also has some of THE BEST Megadeth songs - Trust, Almost Honest, The Disintegrators. And Hidden Treasures is a great mix of the catchy film songs they did which retained a 'deth heart.

[OK, so I'm a bit of a Megadeth fanboy, but I've been listening to them since I was 3. In school, when people went on about Michael paedo Jackson or other early 90's crap, I was headbanging and telling them to hail the dark lord]

I thought the System Has Failed was a pretty solid album. I think this next one will probably be something of similiar or higher quality regardless of the record label.

Dave's vocals are definitely unique.

This news just kind of makes me go "Oh."

I can't imagine their sound will change any more than it would have anyway. They're a big enough name that it's gonna sell pretty much no matter what. I cautiously look forward to it.

To me, a new album is better than constantly releasing best of albums like Dave has been recently. That kinda shit pisses me off. They are good starting places for people new to Deth, but for those who want to own the entire discography it kind of sucks. I just gave up on the last best of. I could create the CD myself using the albums I have (all the previous albums that is).
