Retards suck.

I'm not sad to see him go, in fact I hope his replacement will mean better live shows. I've seen them twice and both were boring. A band like Finntroll should be fun to attend to.

Seeing Finntroll live should be like hanging out with a bunch of dwarves in the woods singing drinking songs and getting wasted! That's how I envision it anyway.

Yeah, but whenever I go out with dwarves we do other stuff... which I never really understood.

Indeed, Finntroll should be accompanied by a lot of beer. Especially Svartberg, the opener from their debut. Man, that's one hell of an atmosphere song. I do think however that Korpiklaani has some better songs to go with beer. Like, for instance, Beer Beer.

This is rubbish news. I found him to be a really great frontman when I saw them live. Not boring at all :?

And I wasn't even remotely intoxicated at the time, either.

Not into them yet, so won't comment. From what I've heard he was pretty good. I'm sure they won't go that rubbish.

Well this sucks, hopefully the lineup changes won't have a too big effect on their style. I wouldn't want it to get serious.

I'm trying out.

Finland's FINNTROLL have issued a statement regarding their recent split with frontman Tapio Wilska (SETHIAN, ex-WIZZARD, former session vocalist for NIGHTWISH). The statement reads as follows:

"We have reached a situation in which we find it impossible to continue FINNTROLL with our singer Wilska. This decision was very hard to make, but after long talks and deep conversations we finally came to the conclusion that if we were to continue FINNTROLL, we had to let Wilska go.

"We thank Wilska for the past three years.

"FINNTROLL is now actively searching for a new singer, and will continue working on a new album which should come out by the end of 2006. Although FINNTROLL does not have a permanent singer in its ranks at the moment, we will not let this affect our already scheduled performances."

FINNTROLL recently completed a short North American tour with German thrashers SODOM. The band are scheduled to take part in the No Mercy Festivals 2006 European tour beginning in early April (along with CANNIBAL CORPSE, KATAKLYSM and LEGION OF THE DAMNED).

I'd hate to be the only one in disagreement here as I'll probably be flamed and possibly barbecued for it, but I never liked Wilska's vocals on Nattfödd. Perhaps it's because I'm Swedish but with the heavy finnish accent it just sounded corny. I don't think he was even near as good as Katla. I love the music on that album though.

Couldn't agree more.

Well, you got that right in the vein that Katla is actually native Swedish-speaker. But personally I think that this 'goblinmetal' needs a thick Finnish accent to it. Of course it may sound strange to you :)

But on the other hand this is sad news as Wilska is the most finest type of guy, who didn't mind to toss some shit-philosophy with drunken me for a couple of hours during one of the last summers festivals here.

A little of the same positive 'accent-thing' is notable on the forthcoming Amorphis' "Eclipse" -album, Tomi Joutsen's strong (rally-driver  ) pronouncation is suitable due to the musics 'wibes', so to say. Same thing with Korpiklaani.

 That's easily my favourite type of mispronunciation. It lends so much character to a song. Tony Kakko and Marco Heitala are brilliant for it.

I can understand that; as I don't speak a word of Swedish or Finnish (yet) I can't tell. Mispronunciations in music drive me nuts, though - it bothers me a little whenever I listen to "The Enigmatic Spirit" and Vintersorg pronounces "thesis" with a short "e."
