This is great news. Even the possibility of a new album has got me all excited.

*crosses fingers*

Doesn't seem very likely to me. They weren't exactly enthusiastic...

I hope the three songs they played on that anniversary party are indicative of the rest of their setlists for the upcoming gigs. Perhaps it could even be indicative of the style of that new album some unrealistic people expect?

Please, no new album. Their decision to quit when they did is admirable. returning to the scene after saying "We have nothing new to offer" only tarnishes the legacy. I would kill to go to one of the reunion shows, and a live album/DVD combo would be nice, but no new album!

Have to agree to that.

Yes, because the current DVD sucks. Horrible cheap camera effects. Anyone else seen it?

I own it. The setlist isn't too shabby. It's not just the camera, on mine the audio is terrible. I have to turn my surround sound up to 40 to decently hear it. Which, is very strange, I have the audio CD as well and it sounds just fine. Friggin cheapskates at Candlelight!

Good point. I haven't noticed the sound quality is that bad as I don't really have a decent audio setup anyway, but the overall volume on the DVD is very low indeed.

I own the DVD by the way, not the live album. Couldn't be bothered to buy essentially the same product twice. I only own two music DVD's, this one and Opeth's DVD. Opeth's totally owns this one.

I hope that if Emperor do make a new album, it damned well better had be something worth the previous Emperor classics...
Just releasing a new Black Metal or Prog Metal album isn't enough. Either it is something completely new or creative, or it re-uses another metal genre, and bettering the opposing album.

I would be happy with just another reunion tour,(MANCHESTER FUCKING ENGLAND-PLAY A DAMNED GIG THERE!) but if the creative juices really are flowing then a new studio album won't be such a bad thing.

I think Samoth quite distinctly said that the new album (if there ever gonna be one) will be a LIVE CD/DVD.

Still great news that they've reunited (they have given me a chance to see them live and I won't forgive myself if I'll miss it).
