I take them more seriously than some - the band's tongues are firmly in their cheeks, they're not trying to challenge Negura Bunget in atmospheric terms, and they can be a lot of fun. The same sort of people who despise death metal because people mosh to it dislike Cradle, yes. ;)
Pretty much where I stand. I will probably end up getting the album just to add it to the collection, and honestly the last two have been better than average. Thornography, on the other hand, sucks ass.
From a song writing stand point, I would say the most memorable thing they have done recently is the song Nymphetamine. Nothing boring about it, very good from beginning to end.
but this song is just.. erm.. forgettable. I've listened to it like 20 times and I can't even recall the melody when I wake up in the morning (just so you know - that's never happened with me and a new Cradle song before) So I don't know, something is wrong here..
