Would do it in an unofficial capacity of course. I don't know if that will fly with Zad though, would be more than happy to bury the hatchet with the team.

I would have loved to join the team. As I had discussed it with Zadok, I just don't have the time with being a full-time student and always writing essays or reading. I do not want to falsely commit to something like this and then disappear or quit a few weeks after because I will be going back to school and now is the time I have free. A real shame

EDIT: Trapt, Emperor, Alex, Milan, Wali, Bruce, Stephan are all good candidates. I'm sure I'm forgetting some names.

I'm not sure I'm skilled enough in english to do the job as well as I'm able to do it in french. But thanks for the vote of confidence.

I think your quite capable of expressing yourself in English. You'll bring another dimension to material reviewed here. Maybe more Avant-Garde and other "out-there" music.

I'm applying.

I'm at work at the moment, but I'll get home tonight and submit my sample reviews.

I'd apply too, although a few things are holding me back. For one: I've never written an album review before. I doubt my English is good enough to write something that would do justice to the album in question.
Secondly, I've experienced that I often have a hard time putting my feelings towards an album into words. Although that might be a consequence of my limited english vocabulary.
Thirdly, I doubt I'd have the amount of time necessary to write a decent review (let alone two) every week, due to the work I have for school. Which is something I regret to be honest since I'd be honored to contribute more to this site. Hopefully, whenever I have the appropriate amount of time and feel that I'm capable of writing something worth reading, I'll send some review samples if at that point in time an extra reviewer would still be most welcome.

Now, with that out of the way, I do think I'd be able to contribute to the news editing. I check various sites for updates every day, it has become a habit throughout the years. And I think my english is good enough to write a decent article on a regular basis, although I'll let the staff decide whether or not that is the case. The article only mentions requirements and contact info for the reviewer job. What about the news editing job?

Milan, your English is excellent!

I didn't know it wasn't your first language.

Basically this: and I can't even use English as a second language as an excuse. My writing tends to be awkward, with only fragments of the occasional good idea appearing. Furthermore, I don't handle criticism well, and being here 'since the beginning' would give me an undue sense of entitlement in the behind the scenes interactions.

But thanks for the encouragement though, DI.

I just hope anyone that is selected here to refrain from the repeated "98/100 OMG Best Album Ever" style of scoring stuff. An 80 means the album is good, very good, guys. Repeatedly flipping out over weekly reviews makes me think the reviewer really isn't that discerning in their taste for music.

I'm from Flanders, Belgium, so my first language is Dutch actually. I've only been taught English since I was fourteen years old, although I had seen a lot of English television (Monthy Python and Blackadder for example, thanks dad!) and had heard a ton of music (again, thanks dad!) before that. But thanks anyway! I continuously try to improve.

And thanks for the mention DI, it's much appreciated!

No problem, guys. I meant what I said. I had forgotten about Bar! Holy shit, dude! You'd be also excellent to bring about the progressive as well as Grind/Death and the sort. There are few fans here that would enjoy it. Steve, you magnificent bastard... Just keep your vulgar opinions to yourself and you can have the possibility of joining the team again. Good god, man, Zad has been very tolerable. You'll bring a lot of underground obscurities to the surface and make a great contribution.

This... but maybe writing reviews would be a nice relief from writing scholarly stuff. I need to try, I guess.

I wanna do it, but I don't have much time to listen to records when I spend 8 hours a day listening to music anyway. I would have really jumped at the chance a few years ago when I had a friend who gets every labels promos on a monthly basis. Then I could have written about stuff a month or two early. Maybe in the future when my good mood stays around for a while because I don't get depressed or pissy when I am doing a good job and the last year or so that has seldomly been the case. Looks like things are turning around but you never know what will happen.
