Excellent news, indeed, and a fine way to start 2010.

The title could be misleading. It says nothing of a confirmed news about Soundgarden reuniting unless, of course, re uniting can also mean coming together just to release a box set. Great band. If they could reunite and release something as good as AICs Black Gives Way To Blue, I would be happy. :)

Unless I'm not current on the subject, I've heard that Cornell said their is "no chance" for a reunion. Oh well this is good news though..

This is definitely good news, particularly after Cornell's somewhat dismal work with Audioslave.

So if it wasn't confirmed, I think it definitely has been now.

I think AiC, Soundgarden, and STP should tour together. I'd definitely go. It's like it is 1993 all over again!

Plus PJ? That would be a sweet ticket.

Sure would. I am convinced that the grunge era was the best period of popular mainstream music in the US since the 70s, getting a taste of its return has been a very welcome surprise.

I think there is gonna be a lot of disappointment to go around. Just remember, they didn't exactly go out on a high note, bad blood will rear it's ugly head again as well.

An AIC reunion makes sense, there was no reason that they broke up to begin with. They essentially took a couple years off after Jerry's first solo record. Jerry got busy working with Ozzy and Cardboard Vampyres after his second solo record.

So that is the contrast. People are either gonna put up with each other to make some money, which usually results in bad music. Or old, bad feelings will ruin it. Rarely does a reunion work out that is this high profile.
