Its really sad that he thinks those two albums compare to Reign in Blood. If that's the case, I shudder to think of what this new one will sound since he compared it to Seasons.

Hey 8 or so songs like Psycopathy Red would be ok with me. Simple mindless speed/thrash would be the best thing they could do.

This new one will sound bad just like the last few.

Honestly, why does anyone bother with these 80's thrash bands that try to make comebacks? The results are almost universally terrible or disappointing, or at the very least redundant.

Not all are bad, the new At War is pretty kick ass. Sounds like it could of came out back in 1988.

Kreator and Destruction had good last ones, if you call that a comeback. Artillery's new one looks pretty good.

And screw you all, the only poor album Slayer have made is Diabolos. All the rest have something to recommend them.

Kreator's new albums are retreads of their old albums without the energy or power extruded by said old albums.

What, you liked God Hates Us All? Blech.

Looking forward to this. Believe it or not, I didn't even know Slayer had a new album in production until reading this article. Glad to see we won't have to deal with a five year wait like we did the last time (although three years is still a long time, but that seems to be the norm now for metal bands).

And I don't care what anybody else says: I liked Diabolus In Musica.

If I ever review it, the phrase 'eh, it's not SO bad' will probably come into use. And God Hates Us All was decent.

And I'm sort of surprised that you know Kreator are still going, DM, what with your not knowing that Atheist had reformed and there was a new Brutal Truth and Metallica fired Jason Newsted and shit. Oh hay, Piggy died.

Slayer has never made a bad album, but a lot of mediocre ones.

Seasons has like 3 or 4 fast songs, so i damn well hope it's not in the same vein. there's probably only like one slow Slayer song i like.

and Christ Illusion was pretty good imo, all the fast ones were quite good and "Cult" was awesome aside from the unnecessarily long intro.

angsty lyrics
slow whispered Korn and Pantera parts
