This is sad man. The second death of a metal band member in what, two weeks? RIP metal mate. Hope the vocalist recovers soon.

Another one? Sheesh, how many important people have died this year?

Rest in peace, Vitek.

Although I would not want them to split up because I am a big fan of their music, I would completely understand if they did. He and Vogg, the guitarist, were the founding members and brothers as well. He must be taking htis harder than anyone.

Assuming that Covan makes a full recovery and Vogg finds a way to come to terms with his brother's death, I think a hiatus of a year or two is the best we could hope for. Having said that, I have no clue what it feels like to be him at this point in time. However he tries to deal with this, I wish him the best of luck. I don't what the fuck I would do if my brother died, especially if we were in a successful band together since we were teens.

This is really sad news. Decapitated are a great band, and Vitek's a great drummer. His passing is not just a loss to the band, but a loss to metal as well. And to pass away at such a young age, it's all just unfair. But in the words of Iron Maiden, 'Only the Good Die Young'.

RIP Vitek, you will be missed forever.

Having formed the band, his loss will affect the whole structure and composition of the band. As much as I do not want Decapitated to disband, it will be a decision I will accept as a fan, if ever the verdict is such.

Vitek, see you in Valhalla when I'm done.

Wow. Shocking news, RIP. Decapitated had the world in front of them, this is really tragic.

As for whether the band will break up, he'll be hard to replace, being the most talented member imho. It's possible, but this'll be another Cliff Burton situation...

Oh come on, Cliff Burton really wasn't all that spectacular, plus he had exactly nothing to say in Metallica.

I meant that people will use it as an excuse to attack the band more, as in 'they were great until he died'. Plus, they'll have a hard, emotional time replacing him.

Something I've been wondering is if this will change them stylistically and lyrically, assuming they ever get back together. I would assume most death metal band members haven't had their brother die, or been in a near-death situation, like Covan is now.

IMO Decapitated kind of lost it in the last album anyways.

Maybe by todays tech-metal standards...

Dude hasn't seen daylight in 20 years.

Listen to (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth at max volume, then tell me cliff wasn't that great.
