I view claims that albums are faster/more aggressive/more like the old stuff much as I view claims made by just about everyone fucking over the Roman Republic that they were actually restoring it.

It's mostly because I fucking hate keyboards and they're least prominent on that album. It's also got like, memorable riffs and songs and stuff.

I'm looking forward to it. AYDY was still good, if not as good as their older albums. Everyone'll listen to it, secretly love it, and then come on the forum the next day going 'OMG that sucked'.

I actually didn't like AYDY on my first listen. But after giving it a second chance, I started liking it. It's not typical COB, but it was still decent. It's an album full of angst. I found the riffs on this album pretty aggressive, perhaps due to the downtuned guitars.

I hope Blooddrunk would be slightly better than AYDY or at least on par.

when i think about it, this title could easily been used by some humourthrash band in the 80s.

Speaking of album titles and Children Of Bodom, anyone else notice Carnal Forge (who sound similar) relased an album in 2004 called "You aren't Dead Yet?"

Yeah, i know the story about being Alexi being a dumbass, getting drunk and riding on top of the tour bus and all, but this is more scandalous.

AYDY had some really cool more aggressive sounding riffs, but they only came up in when the songs started. they have to keep their pace up, they suck when they're slow.

Things stated by Alexi Laiho:

*Slipknot's last CD was a "metal classic."

*Hates early neo-classical influenced albums

*Prefers mid-paced songs with 1 riff in them because they are more memorable when you hear them on the radio

*"There's nothing wrong with selling out..."

And on top of that, we get the aformentioned "it's going to be our most aggressive, fast bla-bla bla album yet" statement, which we all know in the past 6 or so years, is the kiss of death. This album will blow efficiently.

I actually like more keyboards in COB. Janne Warman is a great player reminds me of a young Jens Johansson who he's big fan of.

I didn't like AYDY. Never mind that I have the shirt, I flew interstate to see the gig and they didn't print any tour shirts. I had to get some kind of shirt. :lame:

I like keyboards. I play keyboards. Follow The Reaper is my favourite CoB album. AYDY has nothing on the previous work. I weep for Janne's wasted skill when keyboards are not used properly.

CoB died after Follow the Reaper. Hate Crew Deathroll was a different band.
