I don't know, Al.. When I look up a band and get a steel mill website instead, I feel like I have to buy some of that sheet metal. Who knows how many millions of dollars suffering bands like Metallica have lost to the steel mill industry?

Maybe it's because the fans realize the steel mill is way more metal than Metallica is nowadays...

I actually have never listen to full Metallica album... I like some "random" musics, I like to listen to them when someone puts a song from their albums. My brother loves them and I prefer Overkill, Testament and Annihilator to them.

Anyway:

Kill 'em All - Bah...
Ride The Lightning -
Master of Puppets - Some nice songs...
And Justice For All - ahn?
Metallica - again
Load - Is this Metallica?
ReLoad - Is this Metallica again?
St. Anger - WTF IS THIS!? Didn't anyone tell Lars that people get arrested for hiting thrash cans on the street???

has anyone of you guys checked the Kerrang tribute to Master of Puppets? so far I'm on the second song and it's good, almost identical to the original songs but pretty well done anyways

here's what's in it :
    MACHINE HEAD - "Battery"
    TRIVIUM - "Master Of Puppets"
MENDEED - "The Thing That Should Not Be"
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE - "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)"
    CHIMAIRA - "Disposable Heroes"
    FIGHTSTAR - "Leper Messiah"
    MASTODON - "Orion"
FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND - "Damage, Inc."

NP
Trivium "Master of Puppets"
(it's good ! identical plus a little keyboards and twing guitars ! 8) )
EDIT
Mendeed's version of The Thing That Should Not Be sucks

I've downloaded this, but haven't heard it yet. Expecting major suckage on 7 out of the 8 tracks.

St. Anger: crappy crap... bah.. and i even paid for this

can't wait to hear their new album 8) i hope it suxx big time!!! :P hope it has lot's of nu-metal in it, ha ha :D

but then again.. Metallica can't release anything that we would like on this board, not even if it was a replica of their early days in the 80's.. it simply wouldn't be cool to admit that u liked Metallica's post-justice...

I picked it up in the shop and put it right back down, before my fingers dropped off.

With the exception of Machine Head and Trivium, I really hated that tribute album. But then again I'm not a huge covers fan.

Just for the record:

Kill em' All - Very Good
Master of Puppets - Excellent
Ride the Lightning - Excellent
...And Justice for All - Good songs, shit production
Black Album - Excellent, in a different way to its predecessors obviously. True (Tr00?) Metallica died with this release.
Load - Despicable tripe
Reload - Despite a few tracks...also despicable tripe
Garage Inc - half good, half despicable tripe
S & M - Not bad, besides the utter murdering of a few classics. Master of Puppets is rather brilliant
St Anger - A handy frisby

I kinda know the feeling, but when I'm in the mood, the first three albums still proverbially rock me.
