Also, she was awful. Lecture all you want about her vocal lessons or whatever, she had no emotion, no charisma, nothing. Maybe the band can do something interesting without her...but I still doubt it.

She is a very, very good singer, if in a style I can't stand. Though she made a huge mistake in alienating the rest of Nightwish. If money is what she's interested in, she's going to find that making it as an opera singer is ten thousand times harder than it was in Nightwish. In the opera world (which is where she seems to want to be), she's a good singer, but nothing special compared to the other ladies who can really hit the high notes. Not to mention, she's going to be the low woman on the totem pole for years if she goes anywhere outside the metal world.

Tarja was an amazing fucking vocalist, and I find it highly unlikely they'll get someone to equal her. I'm about ready to stick a fork in this band.

If it sounds like shit, she can't sing, a lot of talented guitar players sound like shit, so that means they aren't good at guitar. It's all about the sound, not how much talent it takes.

Technicality and difficulty don't necessarily translate into good music, is what I think he's saying.

So while Tarja may be technically accomplished, whether or not she is a fantastic vocalist is still subjective as it pertains to musical enjoyment.

However, Eyesore is correct; she is a great singer. Sorry, Husker, but just because you don't like something does not make it bad. I hate her vocals, too, but I recognize that she has some serious skills.
