It does a bit though. Means he's not a complete tosser (if it's true). Note how I avoided mentioning that the Foo's bassist doesn't believe in AIDS. You have to be a be smart in what facts you do put in reviews.
How does his being a tosser or not affect the quality of the music in any way? If he still plays the exact same thing, does it matter whether he likes Meshuggah (and he does) or not?
Because that kind of shit matters to Metalheads.
I would say because a review is more than just a description of the music, which is by definition inadequate. It's band background, interesting facts, comparisons, humor etc. If you ignore all of that, you have yourself a bland review.
And that particular fact is kind of interesting, because perhaps one can speculate what, if any, influence metal bands have had on Nickelback.
