how does a band create something as brilliant as the opening to Millionflame and then create this video. One wonders.

I always find it funny when people start to dislike a band when they find their identity. The first two albums are typical melodeath, same style played by a million bands. Then they start to evolve on A Predator's Portrait, and the change is complete on Natural Born Chaos. And that's the last album most people acknowledge as being good.

The same can be said of In Flames. They began to change on Colony and Clayman, the change was complete on Reroute To Remain, and most people claim Clayman or Reroute To Remain to be their last good album.

It's weird.

With both those bands, I like the latter day stuff far more than the dime-a-dozen early albums. And the new Soilwork sounds great!

They focus too much on vocals and keyboards and not enough on cool guitar parts on their albums after APP :\

also what they're doing now isn't especially original either

But they sound like Soilwork. They have their own sound and style. The first two albums, and even A Predator's Portrait to an extent, were just typical of the genre, with little defining style.

But hey, I like groove and melody in my music, so it's no surprise I like thier newer stuff better.
