i didn't want him to die, after all he was a human being, but i won't mourn his death either.

he regreted what he did (the murder), which i guess doesn't suck, but it doesn't change the fact that he did it.

Normally, I'd side with following the reaper, but this guy was an asshole. Him and his retarded D'n'D ideology.

Do you think if he didn't serve 7 years in prison—which is a joke in and of itself—that he'd have regretted it?

I figured I would say a bunch of crap like this from Ken on this news. He murdered someone, he went to prison for it, enough is enough. The guy was obviously fucked up but hey artists that are like that usually make the best music. Look at Varg, Bard Faust, etc....

Anyways, I hail Dissection for the Somberlein and Storm of the light Bane and hail Jon for making it. That is all.

Sorry, you murder someone like that and for that reason, prison isn't enough. He deserved death, but not by his own hand.

Dumb comment. Bush didn't kill anyone.

The guy fucking murdered someone because he was gay, shot him in the head and the back with a goddamn shotgun! That's like someone murdering you because you have bad acne. The guy deserved no respect alive and deserves no respect dead. I'd shit on his grave.

If you like Dissection's music, whatever, that's a separate issue.

Erm, Ken, there's no proof that he killed the guy, and he wasn't charged with murder either. He was there when it happened, but
always claimed that he wasn't the one who pulled the trigger.

Oh, and the Swedish judicial system may have it's faults, but I'm
quite sure it works a hell of a lot better than the American one.

People don't show remorse for things they did not do.

The guy made Brillant music for a short period of time, he should be remembered and respected for that. Period.

You want to get all right wing, eye for an eye, cut his balls off over something he did his time for be my guest, but that makes you look just as ignorant as he was for killing some gay guy.

He was clearly fucked in the head for a long time, but for a brief period and two albums he channelled that into to top 50 all time Metal albums, maybe not for your average Journey, Def Leppard or Evanescence fan, but for the rest of us that actually like Heavy Metal and how great it was in the early mid nineties it means something. You don't like the guy, you want to piss on his corspe, fine, but don't fuck with the rest of us if we want to show respect for a truely important figure in Heavy Metal and especially the second wave of Black Metal and the scene back then which made it truely special for a short period of time.

Besides he made those albums before he went off the deep end anyways.

Maybe the "See you in Transylvania" note was a (possibly humorous) reference to Dead, who was wearing a t-shirt with the text "I love Transylvania" on it when he killed himself?

People die.

Jon > Ken.

I'm suprised no-one has summed the guy up in three simple letters:

LOL

Hooray for nutjobs! I'm much more with Ken on this than others. The fact that he made a few sorta good albums doesn't excuse him being what he was. The only reason I'm not hoping Faust, Varg and the ex-Gogoroth rapists don't follow in his path is because there's still hope for decent music from them.

Quote:
DISSECTION frontman Jon Nödtveidt, who took his own life earlier in the week less than three months after announcing the band's split, spoke to Norwegian magazine Slayer in 2003 on the topic of suicide. Asked how he views the matters of suicide and whether taking your life is "worth it," Nödtveidt responded, "The Satanist decides over his own life and death and prefers to go with a smile on his lips when he has reached his peak in life, when he has accomplished everything, and aim to transcend this earthly existence. But it is completely un-Satanic to end ones own life because one is sad or miserable. The Satanist dies strong, not by age, disease or depression, and he chooses death before dishonor! Death is the orgasm of life! So live life accordingly, as intense as possible!"

Looks like he read the reviews for Reinkaos, then...
People die, idiots live. Sometimes, though, The Flying Spaghetti Monster gets it right.
