I couldn't be bothered asking this but yeah, whats the deal with that? Are you guys saying Bostaph was a bad drummer? Or that he infected the other three with nu-isms via osmosis?

He could bring the old spirit back with him. Who knows? Bringing an awesome drummer and an old friend could make them wanna go back to the old days. Of course it could also be another St. Wanker so I'm not holding my breath.

I'll get flamed at for this, but they didn't change THAT much with Bostaph. Not to my ears, anyway.

I did like GHUA and I think Bostaph is one helluvan drummer but they did change a lot with him or without him. I think the main source of change is that mofo King, with his love of metalcore and shit. But still another RIB, even SITA would kick major ass. But I'm not getting my hopes high, it can only dissapoint me.

I think they changed more from Show No mercy To Reign In Blood then they have since then. Most people see that as a good thing but SNM is my fav slayer album by far!!

Sure, go from SNM to GHUA, and you'll see difference. But going from SITA to DI? Not much. Sure, the albums themselves may suck, but isn't this just shitty songwriting? Or am I totally wrong?

They would have changed no matter who was behind the kit. Kerry King's a bandwagon hopper, that's the problem with Slayer.

And Paul Bostaph pwns your faces.

Hmm, I dunno. I liked DI too anyway.

I'm listening to Disciple on their MySpace right now, and apart from slightly more 'corey riffs, it's not that dissimilar from older material.

Anyway, anyone that likes Lamb Of God should dig this automatically, it's like them gone more punky. Which is a good thing! (and hey, new LOG this year!)

W00t at LOG! Look, Disciple imo is one of the best songs Slayer ever made, metal-corey or not. The aggression was there in GHUA, they just need to play faster and more thrashy and we got ourselves a great comeback!

Let's hope so!

You're right. They injected a little more groove and melody, which is a good thing. A lot of their early shit is just bad. Speed and nothing more.

Saying Lombardo can save the band makes as much sense as saying DeGarmo can save Queensryche.

Yeah, I never got into their early stuff, too sloppy and stereotypically crap-thrash.

Listening to Jesus Saves right now. If Slayer take the good songs of GHUA and give us an album of them, albeit perhaps more thrashy I'll be happy as hell.

I wouldn't be suprised if they had clean vocals on this album.

The only slayer albums I listen to are the first 3 + seasons. And i've never noticed any clean vocals.

You should maybe actually listen to them, then.

I actually Think Tom Araya is the only cool one out of the whole group. He still listens to Sadus and for the most part lets Hanneman and King fire the band down the crap shoot.

Maybe we have different definitions of clean vocals.
