I'm a total Ozzy fan. Any music by Ozzy Osbourne is great. I even loved the under cover thing. Yes, Sharon is a bitch and so are the kids... but Bruce Dickinson can't badmouth ozzy when he's playing on his tour! I think he's just jealous... The egg-throwning was completely immature though, and should have been avoided... thats not the way to deal with a pissed-off english singer... 'specially not from Iron Maiden! just go talk to the guy, jeez!

I think Bruce was being a dick onstage because he didn't want to do Ozzfest and it was his way of letting both the organizers and Steve Harris know. Thats my gossip column idea anyway.

Everything Bruce said was true though. And he only said that stuff after being pissed on my Sharon several times throughout the tour. Sharon can't handle someone having a bigger reputation in Metal than Ozzy, plain and simple. The irony is she is the main person who is ruining his image. He didn't want any part of that damn reality show.

I don't think Iron Maiden have a bigger reputation than Ozzy... We all agree Sharon's a cunt (even though we can't say it enough XD). The reality show was a stupid publicity stunt to get more cash, but it is funny sometimes... I try to look at Ozzy musically. He's always played with the best musicians: Zakk, Randy, Mike Bordin, Rob Trujillo... and even though he only writes some stuff, I always prefer Ozzy than BLS or anything else. Because Ozzy is still a great singer. He's one of the most recognizable voices in rock. Let's all try not to get too mad at him, ok?

I didn't say anything to the contrary. But Shraon calls the shots now man, that much is obviuos. I'm not mad at him for the show, for as I said, he didn't want to do it. He knew it would hurt his image in the Metal community and it did, right or wrong. I respect him. I think Black Sabbath had better singers, namely Tony Martin, but I do respect Ozzy's contributions to the genre as a whole.

And some people do hold Iron Maiden in higher regard than Black Sabbath, and Sharon hates it. She tries to tell people Ozzy wrote everything in Sabbath for crying out loud, when everyone knows it was Geezer and Iommi. she fails to realize that marketing tricks like that, while used all of the time in other mediums, don't work on Metalheads.

I also prefer Dio-era sabbath, and THe Eternal Idol is one of my favourite records... I also love Glenn Hughes on Seventh Star. However, Ozzy will always be a God of metal, even if he didn't write any sabbath songs.

Maiden may be held in higher regard than Sabbath by some people, but I think Maiden were always more commercial than Sabbath. I mean, Sabbath almost never had any good album sleeves! But wasn't all the blues-doom-rock that Sabbath did musically much more interesting than anything maiden ever did? And Tony Iommi can not only out-play Janick Gers, Adrian Smith or Dave Murray but he can definitly improvise the balls off of them and out-songwrite them any day. Tony Iommi invented a whole style of music with his gibson SG, maiden just brought it to fame.

speed isn't everything. For example, the Stairway to Heaven solo is way cooler than anything by maiden, but its not fast, is it. Same for Paranoid solo, NIB solo, War Pigs and Black Sabbath solos.

Yeah exactly. Don't get me wrong, Iommi is a hero, but being more innovative does not equal better overall. H could eat Tony alive as a lead player.

I agree with both of you, but a guitarist isn't better if he can play faster. It's the creativity that counts. I prefer a scale played slow than two notes played really fast. And Tony is also handicapped, remember? He's missing half of two fingers... although I don't know if it makes a difference, him being the player he is..
