Hmmm, let's analyze the situation at hand:

1. Your first studio album Blizzard Of Ozz was released almost 26 years ago.

2. Many people felt you hit a brick wall after that one album.

3. I totally disagree and actually found Diary Of A Madman, No Rest For The Wicked and No More Tears to be better albums.

4. But I found No More Tears to be your last truly worthwhile album.

5. That album was released nearly 15 years ago.

6. More than four years after the boring Down To Earth, you've now decided to go back into the studio to record yet another album.

7. You'll obviously do it, too, since retirement will probably never be in your cards and your solo "band" will become heavy metal's equivalent of The Rolling Stones.

Add these all up and you get:

8. Either way, I'll give your new record a chance and hope that it's as good as what you put out in the late 80s/early 90s.

I agree with almost everything, just changing two things in a sentence:

3. I totally disagree and actually found Diary Of A Madman, Bark at the Moon, No Rest For The Wicked and No More Tears to be almost as good albums.

Exactly. Writing lyrics isn't exactly writing music.

The studio is much kinder to a failing vocalist than a live setting.

That's right. Fucking Marti Fredriksen or Tim Palmer on the last time; who's next, Max Martin?! Or the quite decent "Ozzmosis" -albums Jim Vallance or Michael Bienhorn. But Ozzy has always had trouble's with songwriting, since he has had to (or, more occurately, Sharon) steal Bob Daisley's writing credits. Who actually believes that all tracks on "Bark At The Moon" were solely written by Ozzy Osbourne as the LP's backcover tells?

Well I don't think RC was justifying it so much as explaining it.

oops, sorry. That was a shitty sentence. i wasnt attacking rc, i was trying (badly) to suggest that my point of view though it might be agreed with on this site, means nothing because every band in existence fucks with shit on computers now. I was basically saying i hate the way modern releases are overproduced, while acknowledging that my view is not shared by most modern bands.

I think he should go Industrial properly. Maybe get Al Jourgenson in to help?

That would be a neat idea. Down to Earth sounded too much like Ozzmosis, so I wouldn't mind a change.

Thankfully, Zakk is involved in the album, which will prevent this new release from completely sucking.

Ozzy may not write the songs, but it's always amazing how bad BLS, Badlands, and anything else done by some of his musicians is without Ozzy... That's my opinion anyway... without Ozzy everything just falls to pieces.

I don't think he is total shit live... Classic Rock magazine have been saying that Ozzy is stronger live now with the sabbath reunion than he's been in a long time.. I personally love everything by ozzy, except that ridicolous charity song, the cover of "tears in heaven". that was crap. another shitty sharon marketing idea. fuck.
