Agreed.People put to much emphesis on album cover art and not the actual music.

Well, most of the other black metal that I have been recommended I dont particullarly like. I dont know, nothing else in black metal really compares to In the Nightside Eclipse for Me.

Honestly though, if you can recommend me some stuff, I'll give it a try. Problem is, I usually have to be really pissed off to listen to black metal and the last time I was that pissed off was when my band's now ex-vocalist was making our lives hell on earth.

Well, I hardly know as much black metal as Gast, but I got started with Windir (very melodic), then Gast's review on Forest of Fog got me hooked on them, then I went for Drudkh - Autumn Aurora (beautiful album).

I find the best time for black metal is in the morning or when it’s snowing, raining, or foggy outside. Actually I find myself listening to black metal whenever I feel like it now, but when I first got started that’s when I enjoyed it the most.

What ? No you listen to punk or grindcore or smt when you're mad. The mood for bm is totally different and I think that's why you never got to enjoy it. Try Drudkh, Taake, Deathspell Omega, Nokturnal Mortum, Xasthur, Axis of Perdition and you'll see there's a lot of diversity in bm.
