Into Eternity are a really good band, but a concept album just doesn't smell good.

because when i think "conceptual album" i imagine an album with as many interludes and intros as normal songs.

I'm a big fan of the last two CD's, so hopefully this one will be even better...after listening to The Scattering of Ashes a lot, I found that the songs were somewhat repetitive and I felt that listening to one or two songs was a lot more enjoyable than listening to the whole thing. Maybe this concept album will push them past that...I dunno, we'll see.

Well conceptual albums can bring out the best in the band. It will be a great test for them both lyrically and musically. Song writing skills would be put to test in order to create a proper plot progression. And then there's the climax, the most essential part of the concept. I'm really looking forward to this album. And being a progressive band, I think they've got everything it takes to pull this off.

In addition to those great bands, KING DIAMOND!!!!!

The Puppet Master owns everyone. Best concept album I've heard.

Ah, hmm, a concept album. Great news and all, but I doubt it will dethrone Operation: Mindcrime or The Wall.

This is good news that Into Eternity are coming out with a new album, but why does it get it's own thread in the news section? There are so many bands with concept albums.

I try to post the more interesting news items. Alot of the time there is alot of pointless crap news wherein i'd rather just post nothing, but when it gets to 6 days that nothing interesting has happened i have to scavenge for the most recent best possible news item; while at all times avoid posting something like "Is Devildriver the new Pantera!?" or "Gene Simmons eats Frosted Flakes for first time".

If there are ever news items you feel that need to be posted, i encourage people to send me a Private Message

on another note, i hope they don't use those Halford-ish vocals from the last album. they worked well in bits, but usually they just got in the way.

This is great news. Based upon their work on "Scattering Of Ashes", I feel that Into Eternity is certainly up to the challenge of creating a really good solid concept CD. Why not? I love IE's eclectic metal style. Personally for me, I enjoy the Halford-esque vocal changes. It really shows what their singer is capable of. He does that stuff perfectly live .

I had the opportunity to meet and talk with them for a little while when they played Jaxx in Springfield, VA. and they're just really nice guys. It's great to see them earning the respect and attention I feel they deserve.
