Never seen any spammers here before (save for may be once or twice). I guess their posts usually get deleted before I can read them. Could somebody please give an example of a typical "Spam Post" here?

I haven't seen a lot either. But the main reason for this is the inactive spam accounts. They don't post anything. They register with names like BuyNyquil%50off and shit.

Most of the spam accounts do not get activated. They get deleted. It's not too hard to spot them with fictitious E-mail addresses and suspicious links to websites. Because we get so many of them, it's likely that legit new forum users are not getting their accounts activated. In order to prevent this, we came up with a system whereby they must follow up with an E-mail to get activated. That way we can better "filter" out the spam accounts created by some type of automatic bot that is being used to flood the forums with applications for accounts.

This forum got about 50 new spam accounts a day when I deleted them. The best solution would be a forum upgrade.
