After watching and reading plenty about the latest Motley Crue reunion over the past few years, I think this was bound to happen. Nikki, Mick, and Vince seem to be tremendously more focused musically but also on a more mature level. Tommy has progressively become more of a malcontent and just doesn't seem to have grasped the concept of self accountability on any level. It's a real shame because he can be such a great drummer and performer. He's been replaced in the past. I say move on without him and get someone in there that the rest of the MC guys can create with and have fun with.
Nikki Sixx is the crux of Motley Crue anyway. Motley Crue will certainly survive without Tommy Lee.
Great drummer maybe but he doesn't have the common sense to even go that far. He's just some rebel riding on a fame that has been dead since the 80's.In fact the whole band is trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip trying to cash on something that hasn't had anykind of meaning since the whole 80's metal scene died out when the 90's hit and grunge took over.
I absolutely agree. Motley Crue really only had two decent CD's IMO,
"Shout At The Devil" and
"Dr. Feelgood". I'm basing most of my hopes on the few new songs they've released over the last few years on the compilation CD. I think they still have potential but it's being squandered in a very Poisonesque manner. I'm not big on bands touring every summer just to play the hits. I think that the remaining three members could resurrect the band and still write solid material. I hope they consider doing it.
