Damn, I wish I was in Australia, although I graduate this November, meaning I could either get a job after that, or save up and head down under for the concert.

Rime of the Ancient Mariner!!!! :dio:

I don't like anything from them since 1992.So, i think is cool that they play their best material of the 80s on stage. They should stay with that songs, and don't waste time releasing recycled material on their new albums (i.e.: carbon copy songs of wasting love, clairvoyant, fear of the dark, etc.).

I thought their whole concert trademark was that they mostly play songs from their newer releases and neglect the classics.

Well, the Somewhere Back In Time tour will focus mainly on Maiden's Powerslave, SIT, & SSOASS material. I'm sure they're releasing a couple of new DVD's to coincide with this tour. Read the news article, as it details Maiden's plans for 2008.

I personally can't wait for this tour. I grew up during this period. I saw these concerts back in the 80's. In fact, I was lucky enough to see the Powerslave show twice in 85. This is going to be a must see for all Iron Maiden fans.

Oh man this is great. I first got into maiden like many others back in 87 with" Live after Death". Those were truly the glory years for them. I was still in elementary school and was the only one wearing a maiden shirt at my school at the time.

I hope this time they'll break down and actually play Alexander the great. I would like to hear that song live once before I die. I'm sure I'm not the only one more than a little tired of hearing "the evil that men do" and "2 minutes to midnight."

According to a posting on the IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenFans.com, MAIDEN will headline the "metal day" at the Rock In Rio festival in Madrid and Lisbon as part of its recently announced "Somewhere Back in Time Tour 2008". Apparently those are the only shows the band will play in Spain and Portugal.

to be honest i've only heard 3 complete Maiden albums, but most of the songs on those rule, and every live video i saw makes me want to see them live. if i'm in Portugal for Rock in Rio i'll be damned if i'm missing this!

btw, good to see they brought back "metal day". RiR 2006 didn't have it and it fucking sucked.

India is on that list too. So, Bruce meant it when he said we don't even have to wait even 17 months to see them again. Saw them in March this year. Hope to see them again. :dio:
