Majestic is the same recycled stuff with a little bit heavier edge. The vocals there were left all to faaar in the background. Listen to Kai on LOTF, there Kai sounds AWESOME! Fantastic use of choirs, which Majestic lacked of, only some occasional backing vocals by Dirk and Henjo. The songs on Majestic are very straight forward, while songs on LOFR are far more complex. One could believe this would be Gamma Ray's first effort and LOFR be a excellent example of how much the band has devoloped under the years... seeing that LOFR is from 1995 and Majestic from 2005 makes one scratch his head and wonder where the world is going...

I completely disagree. Who cares how complex it is. It has excellent guitar work, catchy choruses, and it is damn heavy (for a Gamma Ray album). Your statements make me scratch my head and wonder what the world is coming to.

Kai's voice rules btw.

+1 on kai's voice.

"certain metal bands have a soul, and even if the soul isn't as clear or as technically proficient as you'd want it to be, take the soul away, and the whole thing goes kaput."

Did you think the soul of Gamma Ray was shattered into pieces when Ralf Scheepers left Gamma Ray? I never thought Scheepers did a very powerful in Gamma Ray, just listen how amazingly he has improved in Primal Fear since his old days of Gamma Ray.

I thought Kai's vocals on Land of the Free were far superior to Scheepers vocals, unfortunately, since that very album, the power of Kai's has constantly going for the worse. Listen to Kiske's and Hansi Kurch guest apperances on LOFR? Did they sound mediocre? Definately NOT.

Kai Hansen is the God of writing melodic metal and playing guitar, however, his voice is nothing more than mediocre! Gamma Ray could really need a powerful singer. Michael Kiske would do fine. What about the singer from BloodBound that just left the band, would he not be a great choice for Gamma Ray?

Kai is the voie of Gamma Ray. It would take some getting used to if they found a new singer. Although, Scheepers was and still is one of the best in the scene.

Kai annoys me occasionally, but only when I focus on his voice. It makes this weird sound. I don't know how else to describe it. Haha. Regardless, he's still very good, not amazing, but definitely good enough for Gamma Ray. I think finding a new singer for any other reason besides Kai wanting to just play would be pointless.
