STRAPPING YOUNG LAD mainman Devin Townsend has told MTV.com that he's planning on hoping to take some time off this fall to recover from the last decade of touring and recording.

Bwahhahaa, so it's in this tight planning scedule that he has, that he's going to start hoping for a day off some day :D wtf?!

Huh? I don't get what you just said? I think this has more to do with the fact that he's about to become a Dad. I think Infinity II may happen!

well 20 records in 10 years is probably a mad mans work. he's a fuckin workaholic. it's surely a good thing he's taking a rest or he'll have to risk a burnout and dry up on ideas. but as he said, just for the fall, that ain't long. i'll be happy to wait.

oh by the way, devin, don't bother bout the ozzfest. it's for fuck-ups. you just do your thing man!

Of course you're not granpa. Lemme chew your lunch for you now.

I didn't know Devy was 34, I thought he'd be like 45 because of his hair, he looks older than my dad and he's 50. You're as old as you feel Stefan so you are probably younger than me, in that sense.

Devin is definitely not old. I'm 30 and I don't feel old at all. If you're fat and out of shape, sure, you'd probably feel old, but I'm thin...ish, so I'm good.

The question is, what is Devin going to come up with after becoming a father? Is he going to write some crazy music or some seriously mellow and contemplative, introspective stuff?

The motherfucker has the midas touch anyway, any record he takes a part on becomes like kentucky fried jesus - fantastic.
Soilwork get his help and put out their best ever record. Arjen's Ayreon gets him to do some vocals and he helps with production a bit and hey presto, the Human Equation kicks ass.

So anything he does is fine by me, I have complete faith in the guy. (although I haven't heard Devlab)

It is very strange, but still good for those early Monday mornings. You really have to be in the mood to listen to it. It isn't bad, it is just very... uhh.... different.

Read my review of it tomorrow. :)

I'm going to be VERY busy for the next two weeks, so I'm going to re-write some older reviews that aren't on this site.

it seems to me that infinity is his most introspective album, and thats far from mellow.

But he was severely depressed and basically going insane at that point, he checked himself into a mental insitution during this time. That album is a reflection of his insanity, basically. He's much more level-headed at this point.
