...maybe you can answer this question: Why are all the torrent sites disappearing? I heard they've all just cut off US users. Any truth to this? If so, anyone know why?

I buy music! . Maybe the record labels realized, hey we're actually losing a lot of money here!

I also buy all of my music. I refuse to download from file sharing sites for a multitude of reasons. :dio:

I buy everything as well, but the record companies still rarely ever see my money. I buy shit from the second hand bin as much as possible, unless I get it on sale like the new Iced Earth. I do have some stuff I downloades, but it's mostly out of print albums or just stuff that's impossible to find.

I buy music. What you talkin' about?

I'm glad they're disappearing though. Never did like the idea of downloading (unless the album in question is extremely rare).

I buy stuff worth buying, but like Eternal I get my stuff used. I just got 19 CD's in the mail today. I had to play catch up! It's like Christmas.

I do download as well, but if I don't like it after a few listens I won't buy it and then I delete it.

I buy music. :O

I never really liked downloading. Even when I do it, I never really like doing it. It's not about feeling bad because I'm not supporting the artist, it's just that I just don't like it. :\

Buying MP3s is even worse.

The subject is a joke, folks.

Demonoid was what I used. It's gone. I know some others are gone as well. Kerrazy banned me back in the day, but going there now just makes my anti-virus software go nuts. Someone somewhere else said the music industry is attacking these torrent sites in N. America, so they've blocked users from N. America.

I do that as well Eternal Idol. I get tons of stuff from Ebay/Half.com second hand. Most of my new stuff I get from Lala.com. Their prices are just insanely great. I had my Christmas today too. Today's mail brought:

Arch Enemy : Rise Of The Tyrant
King Diamond : Give Me your Soul Please
Five Finger Death Punch: The Way Of The Fist
Himsa: Summon In Thunder

My comments were in no way meant as an indictment for those who can not afford to buy CD's at retail prices or used. I'm sorry if you took it that way. Believe me, I didn't want to sound condescending in any way.

I don't download at all, but it's mostly because i'm clueless as to how to go about doing it . I hated waiting forever on torrents or getting torrents that had no clients, and it's near impossible to find anything that i actually want on a quick file-sharing program. Plus I had trouble finding the torrents that i wanted as well...so I just buy.

Like the majority of people here, I use downloads as a tool for discovering what the mainstream is scared to provide for me. When I like something, I buy it, if I dont like it, I delete it and forget I ever listened to it.

I also used Demonoid alot, so I hope it isnt shutdown for good.

i buy all my music as well. When u know where to get it, it's not that expensive.

classical music is not worth dloading anyway, since there are several versions of the same piece of music performed by different conductors - meaning some are good some are bad, and u can't see what version you are dloading. So it's easier just to buy the best
