It's my dad's birthday in a few days, and I need some gift advice. He's into minimalism and contemporary music as well as classical, from Beethoven to Schoenberg to Ligeti to Copland, and he appreciates complex metal as well. Any advice? |

I have found an über rare recording of the Dream Syndicate, featuring La Monte Young, Tony Conrad, Marian Zazeala, Angus MacLise and John Cale (I probably screwed up the spelling of a few names). All other pre-Tortoise music is ridiculously rare, but this is beyond all measures. There is only once source I found on Google that states this recording even exists, and the other Google hits are redirections to my find. You can find this bootleg here: http://classicalconnection.blogspot.com/ Scroll down to Dream Syndicate - 2 IV 64, Day Of The Holy Mountain. |

![]() -Tyrion Yeah, but here is a breathing blog: http://194142434445.blogspot.com/index.html Really great one with tons of out-of-print and EXTREMELY rare music. If you're a Nurse With Wound kinda guy, you'll love this blog. |

I didn't mean to let this thread get away from me, but I did check out that link, Misha. I have heard of Nurse With Wound, but I've never actually listened to them. Nice blog though. ![]() -Tyrion |
