Okay so, being a fan of videogame music, and games in general, I couldnt resist making a thread about it. Especialy to spread my links to the un-educated masses populating the world. Anyways, talk about how VG music is TOTALEH METOL and have fun :P

Lots of good soundtracks

Teh everything place

The last one contains a quantity of VG soundtracks so awesomely enormous you wont even have to worry about finding ''That special track'' somewhere else.

On topic, Megaman X is power metal.

Megaman X songwriting > Dragonforce songwriting

Somebody Tell me this isnt metal...

Yeah, that one is awesome, but on his latest, he has a song called frictional nevada, which pwns the pwntendo and everything else he has ever done (except maybe some of the brilliance that was on Rossz Czillag...)

I thought this was a pretty kickin' remix of the Marble Garden Zone music from Sonic The Hedgehog. :dio:

Yeah, quite the awesome stuff here.

Those zelda videos are absolutely BRILLIANT. And for metal covers of videogame songs, check out Metroid metal

Myspace

Website

Absolutely fantastic covers of Metroid songs from the Original Nes one, Super metroid for Snes and Metroid Prime for Gamecube. All songs are downloadable for free on the website.

Best thread ever.

That Dr. Willy cover is the coolest!

Oh, and when it comes to vg music, don't forget Nobuo Uematsu and the Black Mages!

Yeah, The brinstar one Simply owns. I'm also quite fond on the ''Metroid Prime Menu'' one.

About Nobuo and and the black mages, what are your opinions on The Black mages second album ''The Skies Above'' ? I find it much weaker and boring than the first one, which was simply amazing. Except for the fact they covered two of my favorite Final Fantasy Songs (Zeromus and Battle with the four fiends)

I love both of the Black Mages albums, but like you said the first one is much better. They used all the best tunes from Nobuo already in the first one so the second contains only "leftovers" so to speak. :D But there's one great song on part 2 and that is the title track The Skies Above. The singer is btw quite unique

Part 1 is full of great songs. Every single one of them is perfect. My favorite is Dancing Mad.

there's also a bang called MegaDriver who metallize videogame music.

Chrono Trigger has an AWESOME soundtrack. my personal favourite is the theme from the Magus battle. another great song is the Fire Emblem theme from SSBM on the gamecube.

and and and the song from the Soul Calibur 2 intro. it's especially awesome during the Ivy/Taki bits.

EDIT - hmmm.. what's the intro song from SC2 called?

thanks for the links Nihilus :D

This completely owns, thanks for sharing!!

Btw, it's not Marble Garden Zone, it's just Marble Zone, from the very first Sonic The Hedgehog ;)
At any rate the whole original 16 bit series had awesome soundtracks.

Anyone in here remember Granada (sega genesis) soundtrack? It had clear metal influences in it.
