Well, Mastodon are usually very tongue in cheek in all the interviews I've ever seen, so I can only hope they're just fuckin around with those comments. Hmm, for me there is no comparison between Images and Words and Leviathan. The former is so much better. Blood Mountain is very cool however and a big improvement. |

I'm not a fan of Mastodon, but i agree with them on this one. "I think what might make us 'cool' and them 'uncool' is the lack of egos in our band. We don't try to show off our amazing versatility every second." |

We don't try to show off our amazing versatility every second." - No instead we try and look cool by bashing bands that are musically superior too us and that have laid the groundwork for technical music to get any measure of popularity and success. While Mastodon is a good band, Dream Theater are legends. Mastodon, like most bands, will never make an Images and Words. They will not make a Metropolis Part 2, and they will not have a twenty year career either. |

By the Way, I was kind of surprised by the mad hate for the 'Don  out there. I hated them at first but their music still grows on you. I'm sure there's a bit of "They're popular, therefore I must hate them," feeling going on with some people though

Dream Theater are awesome. I dont care for this technical/proggy/wank argument whether for or against, all I know is I like good songs and Dream Theater have plenty of them. The only bad moment in Dream Theater's discography was Falling Into Infinity, but even that had a couple solid songs (Hollow Years, You Not Me, New Millenium, Peruvian Skies and Take Away My Pain). And who the fuck judges a band based on how they dress?? If I did that, then I would look at that picture of Mastadon posted and I'd say they smoke alot of pot and play stupid senseless music catering to that crowd and I would never listen to them because of it, as I despise faggy potheads. But you know, I've never listened to Mastadon before, ever. So Im not trying to bash them because I like Dream Theater. I just think its childish to act the way that band member did. "Little chinese girl" is worse than the gay comment, John Myung is an amazing bass player who deserves repect/props and all that good shit. EDIT: I vote for a ban if noodles ever gives his opinion of Dream Theater ever again, we know he hates them, we get it, enough already.
